Hi' I recently bought two cheap DVD players. A Philips and a Sanyo. Last night I put a film in the Sanyo player and halfway through, the picture froze for 10 minutes then started jumping frame by frame through the rest of the film. I tried the film in the Philips DVD player and it worked perfectly. This morning I again put the film in the Sanyo player and it worked perfectly this time. So my problem is, do I have a DVD player with an intermittent fault or does the fault lie in the rented disc. I'd appreciate your views. Thank you.

It's probably an isolated incident with the disk, like a CD skipping.

Hi

I had something simular a few months back. Seemed my player did not like the 'heat' coming from the video player below it and the heat from the small box on the top of it. So I put the dvd player on its own and its been fine since. Ensure good ventilation.

Hope this helps

many thanks. I have isolated the DVD player (which was on top of the VCR) and cleaned each disk. I have had no trouble since!
