Uninstall it first. Then download the latest version to install.
isn't this thread likely to be zapped?
It would seem that it has been uninstalled from firefox

Press on Tools then Add-ons you will find this message:

Adblock plus - free ad blocker could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled.
Sometimes browsers are updated and third party add-ins no longer compatible. Or maybe just no longer trusted/approved of. Strange for the warning to be of corruption though.
same issue, here but I can't even download it, it continually say the connection is down when it isn't. I'm suspecting it's been knobbled by the advertising mob!
it still works on my Firefox, so I presume it's not a universal thing.

As OG says, uninstall it first (if you haven't tried that already) and start again.
What is happening, I have gone into my firefox add-ons and most have been disabled?

Even my Avast on-line security.
Just found this. I do not use Firefox but after reading other forums that are discussing the same/similar problems, I would do as this says. If it does not sort the problem I would be doing a clean install of the latest version of Firefox and clean install of the blocker.

(1) Open Firefox's Add-ons page using either:
Ctrl+Shift+a
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
in the Windows "Run" dialog, type or paste
firefox.exe "about:addons"
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions. All extensions are optional; none come with Firefox.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
(2) You can search for remaining issues with the scanning/cleaning tools listed in our support article: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. I suggest the specialized forums listed in the article in that case.
It's a global problem - Mozilla (authors of Firefox) have screwed up and are working on a fix ...

It's driving me crazy, every newspaper site I go on is littered with adverts, especially those video popups that appear in the right hand corner. They block most of the page and one cannot delete them as one could.
Try AdGuard AdBlocker instead

Hello Khandro

I have just installed AdGuard, it has done the job but I cannot see any indication of it on the firefox website, should there be a logo somewhere?

Just dragged AdGuard Adblocker to Firefox browser. Thank you very much.

Sorry, ^^^ meant to put earlier not yesterday :o(
Yesterday?
Tried to but it says "Download failed please check your connection".

Still can't get any adblocker to work.
My AdblockPlus re-instated itself last night, without any input from me.

I have two computers, Windows 8.1 which now has AdGuard AdBlocker and Windows 10 which has Adblock Plus (which never went away). Thanks to everyone for your help and advice, I hope you all get your problems solved. Thanks again.
