Ok I referred the unmentionable to our web techies, they are “Blue Coat” this is their response:
“This is a problem with the webad on the specific site, and not with the shopping site itself. Could you submit the URL of the ad/site where the ad is present?”
So they are saying the only way to block this is by blocking AB itself. Now I know that also the other unmentionable that I have at home also works. AB can you check the “webad”??

I take it that you still have the problem today, and AB Techs tinkerings haven’t helped you ?

bad as ever
Hi TTT, we are aware the problem is yet to be resolved - we're tearing our beards out here!

We're working on another solution and will have an update for you later today on our next steps. It's likely we're all going to need to pull together on this, we're all on the same side!

Happy to assist ED. We use Blue coat who use Symantec, is it worth your tech team contacting them for ideas??
This is popping up 10 times in a row on me now after 10 I get about 10 seconds respite to paste a post from a previously typed source. So as you can imagine during the day my responses are limited but I am the ideal person to tell you if it’s fixed or not.
Are there any specific ads present when the problem is happening? So, if it's happening 10 times, and each time there's the same ad on the page, then we might then have a culprit.

One theory might be that the 'unmentionable' might have a sibling ad that's triggering it.

We're turning off ad networks one at a time, so please let us know if you see it!

At the moment I have floryday and gardenlines but It doesn’t seem to matter.
I’d have though the first thing you’d have done is scan all the ads on the site anyway.
There is also one that I can’t quite make out because it is elongated at the top of the screen
It has the phrase “winter lines” and it’s orange.
Question Author
The orange one is Ali express
TTT, thank you. Has the unmentionable stopped?
Question Author
Be sure I will let you know when it stops!
Sorry to sound like a stuck record, but have you cleared your cache this morning, since we've paused the ad networks?
Question Author
I restarted firefox and cleared the cache, the same ad are still there and so is the unmentionable
Question Author
I am now so adept at clearing the cache I can do it blindfold!
Okay TTT, thanks, that's really useful. I've relayed that information to our Ed and techies.
Hi guys

in this post I indicated that the G*** advert is associated with the Ally-eXpre55 advert - the orange one offering a 50% discount.

https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Answerbank-Suggestions/Question1597298.html

In my experiments, when I saw the Ally-X advert, it was often fine, unless the Ally-X ad appeared distorted.

In that situation the G*** advert frequently popped up within a second of the distorted Ally-X advert appearing.

The advice at the time was to always refresh the page when the Ally-X advert appeared, until it was no longer displaying.

If the G*** advert appeared, to use the 'back' option to step back at least two steps. A single back step usually resulted in the same distorted Ally-X advert appearing, with the inevitable G*** advert following almost immediately.

Does this mean that certain Abers would be ubable to post on here. OMG!
I did a lot of research at the weekend, when the pressure is off.

I'm currently preparing for a court case in Xuzhou, China next week, preparing for three presentations in Chengdu and Amsterdam and Cologne; trying to get through some legalese from our contracts people in response to a large order from the US.

Sorry, but I don't have time to do more investigation.

I do some research; I offer whatever information I have gained from that research, but I am not tech support for AB.
Question Author
Kidas may have it, I often see the Ali Express ad distorted
Question Author
I reckon it’s Ali Express, can you not just zap that?
