Is anyone suffering from the above prog.with buffering and extremely slow d/loads? If so have you managed to overcome this and how did you manage it?

No problems with YouTube at the moment.
How fast or slow is your Broadband speed ? Who provides your Broadband ? Have you got a Modern PC. ?
We use Windows 10. Virgin provides Broadband, which is usually quite fast.

I appreciate your interest and the questions you ask but,everything was ok yesterday so what has happened?
Check Broadband speed and do a virus Scan.
The problem lies with your PC !
If you want to do a Broadband Speed check, use an independent one such as BBC Watchdog....

Hi rowanwitch,I did a virus scan that showed no problems.The result of the speed check is as follows.
D/load 4.9 Mbps
U/load 502.7 Kbps
Latency 31.4 ms
All of which means nothing to me.If you could explain I'd appreciate it.Thanks.
Our current Download speed is 66.8 mbps with upload of 6 mbps.
We pay for 50 mbps but usually get more.
With a Download of only 4.9 mbps, it's no wonder you have problems with buffering on YouTube.
You need a much faster Broadband speed than that. Who is your provider ? Re-negotiate your Broadband contract....
I have no problem, have you checked your download speed or maybe try a different browser?

However, YouTube offers several quality levels for videos. The lower numbers (360p) indicate that the video is smaller and uses less bandwidth, but is also less detailed. The more detailed the video (480p, 720p, or 1080p), the more bandwidth it takes to stream. Choose the highest video quality that allows you to stream without repeated stops and starts.

If you still experience issues try contacting your ISP to see if they can help.
