She has a one track mind. Doesn't feel part of the UK, is simply determined to drag Scotland out of it by hook or by crook regardless.
I watched an SNP Minster get his knickers in a twist yesterday by quoting false figures on Daily Politics about Scottish trade figures with the U.K. against those to the EU. Massive difference. Over £50billion to uk and £12.5 to EU. This woman is suggesting she. It ties with UK and joint the EU Single market. What planet are they on?

I notice that whenever Andrew Neil questions the SNP, he always asks when the next Scottish Referendum will take place the they get very flustered!

Surely, the nightmare scenario for the Scots would be to have no longer any say in Westminster and be controlled by a failing, autocratic Brussels.

Do the Scottish people get to read the proper argument of why she is in Allan land or do they take what she say she as read?
I can see the wee un's problem here, the SC announced 2 rulings this week, one she liked, swamp A50 with amendments, and another, she would not have liked, the devolved parliaments are spectators to brexit. So I see how the proverbial underwear got itself tangled!
cassa, "Alan land" - my cap is doffed, wonderful.
“Surely, the nightmare scenario for the Scots would be to have no longer any say in Westminster and be controlled by a failing, autocratic Brussels.”

I think even more of a nightmare – and one which is far more likely should they gain independence – is to no longer have any say in Westminster and not be controlled (or more specifically bankrolled) by anybody else.

This nonsense will go on for as long as the Scots continue to return 50-odd SNP members to Westminster. It is unfortunate that they cannot command a majority in the Commons. But it is just and fair because they do not comprise the majority of voters in the UK. Short of independence and, of course, continued membership of the EU (on each of which they’ve had a referendum and lost) I don’t quite know what it is they want which they say is not being listened to by the UK Parliament. They have their own devolved assembly which gives them powers which can only be dreamt of by other parts of the UK; they receive more than their share, per capita, of public spending and they have virtually every one of their constituencies represented at Westminster by a party whose only interest in in Scottish matters.

Unfortunately for them the SNP’s delusions of grandeur have encouraged them to believe they deserve even more than that. I just wish they would have a second independence referendum. If they voted to leave the UK (the best result IMHO) that would be that (though it wouldn’t stop them arguing over the dosh to be handed over in “transition” arrangements). If they voted to stay it would put the matter to bed certainly for a generation or more and the UK government should then seek to reverse some of the ridiculous sops they have been provided under the outrageous devolution arrangements set in train by that nice Mr Blair.

A strategy worth a shot for them would be to field a few candidates south of the border. They may be pleasantly surprised at the number of English voters who would temp
This is an interesting part of the article:
"Diplomats in Brussels are baffled as to why the SNP are even talking about a non-member state either being in the single market or having a separate relationship with the EU. The Spanish are vehemently against this, and would veto. So Sturgeon’s demands are a charade, given their constitutional impossibility. She’s asking for something the EU would never allow, no matter what Theresa May says." - Bang on the Spanish would never let that happen as they'd have the Catalans and the Basques on the case too.
For once, I agree with New Judge (gasp).

The SNP are a grasping bunch of opportunists, and it somewhat depresses me that so many Scots are taken in by their snake-oil salesmanship.

I can't say that I "hope" they get a second independence referendum and win - because I don't think that would end well for Scotland, and I also don't think it's in the UK's long-term interests to have a failed state on its border.

But this can only end 2 ways - the SNP loses power in Scotland, or they win a new referendum. One would hope that losing the new referendum would result in the SNP losing power (although they didn't the first time), so the best thing is probably to allow Sturgeon another bite at the cherry.

This is not going to happen, though, because it would set precedent for campaigners who seek a second EU referendum - if Scotland can have a new one, after all, why can't everyone else? This would be an absolute disaster for the country and everyone knows it. So assuming there is anyone left in Westminster with simple cost-benefit analysis skills, a second IndyRef is probably not going to happen for the foreseeable future and we are going to remain stuck in this toxic, venomous, grasping back-and-forth with the cabal of lunatics who currently represent Scotland for a very long time to come.
Yes she is crazy, sent over the edge by a very small amount f power and suffering with real delusions of grandeur.

How long will it go on? Probably a very long time I suspect.
That was supposed to be La La Land. Predictive text is a pain in the proverbial sometimesLOL
Any Scottish posters on here??
Aye Maggie.
oh I don't know cassa - Allen Land ie Lily Allen, would be synonymous with La-La-Land - she's upset the LGBT community now, apparently by labeling them "fags".

Is she crazy? probably, and she can't help that, any more than she can't help looking like a refugee from Planet of the Apes, but what she could do something about are her arrogance and manners. Mrs May paid her the compliment of making her first leadership visit to her (Sturgeon) in Edinburgh last July, and I cannot forget how she was received.
It is customary and polite etiquette for those being visited on such occasions to descend the steps and greet the visitor bellow on their level, before climbing the steps together up to the portal. Instead, firstly the chauffeur managed to overshoot the entrance - I'm sure this was a pre-arranged ploy, which would have done Benito Mussolini proud - forcing Mrs May to have to walk several yards along the pavement to Ms. Sturgeon, who insolently waited on the top step for Mrs May to then climb up to her
Cor blimey, what a trollop.
You get a one off appearance for this one...... Still waving the red flag Mikey.... hope you're well, nice to see the political debate as wild as ever.

The core of the SNP problem is they don’t like Westminster, they don’t like the fact that Westminster still controls nearly everything going on up here. Simple fact is that the concentration on the Brexit nonsense means that Scotland is floundering. Already £15bn in the red, the next budget is struggling through it’s ratification process, our police services have a £200M black hole in funding and the Councils are really struggling too. The NHS up here is in dire straits, evidence suggesting that as much as 40% of the budget goes on non clinical functions. There are many more issues.

I’m certain that Sturgeon and the SNP feel a level of entitlement to European membership that’s simply false; Europe won’t let them in. Scottish admission to the Single Market would be the final death nell of the EU. The Basque Country, Catalonia, Wallonia, Alsace/Lorraine, Normandy, Prussia, Piemont, Limburg all these smaller “nations” within bigger republics are desparate to go their own way, France, Spain, Italy etc will never allow this to happen but the SNP leadership seem blind to it.

Trade as well, they think that trade with Europe is everything, sadly for them the reality is that 65% or our trade is within the UK, they are blind to everything other than brealing away from Westminster. It could happen, the jingosim and cries to patriotism are ramping up again and the rise of the elitist left wing in Scotland continues apace.

The SNP will bankrupt Scotland just to get their way, it’s sad to see them playing political games with populistic jingoism and fear and the future of the country, but politicians seem the same the world over. Overt socialism is dead, this new brand is scary because the clowns perpetrating it are all so wealthy they have no idea how their claptrap policies will affect the masses and the people who they and the other Social Justice Warriors say they fight for; The poor will suffer in the end. They won’t solve poverty, they are incapable of sorting anything.

I voted for Brexit and to stay in the Union, I’ll continue to do so and unless something changes I’ll never vote SNP again.

As an aside; I see the name Ninefingers popping up here when I browse from time to time, if it’s who I think it is he’s a good bloke. If you read this, I hope you are well my friend and you are enjoying life out of the green stuff finally.
