I'd like to set up a facility where three or four of us can each upload the photos we took at a family event, and see each others folders. Ideally we'd then be able to select 20 of the best and print them off or send them to a printing service to create a traditional keepsake album. Obviously we'd like to restrict access to those of us involved.

Where's the best place to start online?

Thanks VHG, I'll have a look there.

does anyone have specific experience of sharing albums? Easily!
dropbox

WedPics.com, not just for weddings, nice and straightforward, apps available for smartphones so people can upload easily, kind of the modern equivalent of the old disposable cameras on the tables.

That looks useful Fitzer, I might be able to persuade the others to use it even though it wasn't a wedding.

Anymore suggestions this morning?
I'd agree with Dropbox too. I have a folder I share with my daughter, only she and I can see it and everything we upload the other gets a notification and can see it as well. You have to register for Dropbox first (free) and then set it up. I also find it cool as I've also set it so that every photo I take on my phone automatically copies to Dropbox so it's on my laptop ready for printing etc.

...thanks Prudie. I guess when we want to upload some to a print service or to a memory stick to take in the High Street we can do that easily from a Dropbox?
Yes if you have it installed on a laptop,PC etc with a printer/usb facility.
I would also use dropbox, very good.
