This is the problem two people watching the same T.V. programme. One a bit deaf so needs the sound louder but if using ear phones it cuts the sound for the other person. Any suggestions appreciated on how to overcome this.

Buy a tv with a dual audio tuner - I have one but they are hard to find and it is an expensive option.

Buy a wireless headphone set with 2 headphones, each with its own volume control.

Connect your tv to an external amplifier using the audio jacks at the back of the tv and plug the headphones in the amp - this should allow the sound to play out of the tv's speakers.

Thanks for suggestions hc4361. The last one sounds a possibility and worth a try.
You may have a hifi or surround sound system already that would do it
This is ugly but cheap enough and will do exactly what you want.

Some tvs Settings give the option to ON/OFF the speakers with headphones.
Please disregard my link to the cheap amp - the reviews are rubbish.
If you want the cheapest alternative, turn the TV up loud and let the normal person use cotton wool in the ears.
Just a thought!
