Hi all,

I am going to ask for a tablet for my Birthday - I was wondering which is the best on the market - I already have a iphone 4S and when I was in the states recently I overhead in the apple store that they were just large iphones.

Anyone go experience in this area?

Thank you for your help - not!
They are rather I suppose. I have an iphone and an ipad and can tell you without hesitation that your experience on an ipad will be 100 times better than an iphone. I'm not familiar with other tablets at all, why not pop into to an Apple store or Currys and have a play about, with a few different ones.

Have used an ipad and found it the same as the phone tbh so not sure if its worth it!
How strange, most people I know who have one, love them. Hey ho, horses for courses and all that. I'm sure you could try out the other tablets in a big electrical store, they're a lot of dosh so you want to get one that's right for you. Happy shopping whatever you choose.
I love my iPad . But I am one of those people who think a phone is a phone and use it just for that. I do have a smart phone not iPhone. But just use it as phone. Screen too small for me to be bothered withso I just love my ipad
Exactly Brinjal ;)
It seems that every few months a new gadget comes out and everybody wants to have, when will it end.

There must be 1,000 of phones, I-pads thrown into cupboards or bedroom draws because they are 6 months old, what a waste?

Trt so you can't actually answer my question then?
iPads work on the Macintosh software, don't support Flash, so less graphics when browsing, no Android apps, so you're tied to Apple for everything. Expansions are very limited.

Other pads are on Android, support most Windows apps, there are lots around, getting better & cheaper all the time.
I have my faithful Blackberry - not the newest, but wouldn't part with it.

Just got the Blackberry Playbook - in my opinion far more functional than the ipad - check this out ---

There are better pads around - I admit to being prejudiced, but it shows the shortcomings of the ipad.
"iPads work on the Macintosh software"

Only working on software that hasn't been about since 1998 must be a little inconvenient.
I've had an iPad 2 years and think it is the best by far. A basic phone and iPad I do presentations on it .. 80 slides or so with projector. I hardly ever turn on computer now. I can do everything on iPad,
Sorry, Chuck - it must be some other second rate, limited, unexpandable software that doesn't support Java or Flash, and isn't compatible with the system that's on the vast majority of devices on the market...
