I have really bad hormonal/menstrual headaches. The only thing that used to work was Syndol but they've been taken off the market until next Summer. Please can someone recommend a tablet that actually works for these kind of tension headaches. Thank you.

Thanks, I'll go to buy Solpadiene Plus tomorrow and tablets specifically for menstrual headaches. I really thought the reflexology and head massage were going to work. :-(

I'll try that Methyl

You could try Nurofen Plus (which is Ibuprofen and Codeine) - or Boots and Lloyds have their own versions. I find them the 'nuclear option' when nothing else is working for headaches.

Don't confuse this with the various Ibuprofen and Caffeine tablets though - not the same thing at all.

Thank you. Will try all the tablets that have been recommended. Im going to do the darkness now. I don't have flashes of light, my eyes just don't like brightness when I have these headaches.

Ok. Thank you
Have you tried Feminax?
You could ask the pharmacy if they sell an equivalent of Syndol. Try Boots.

Hope you feel better soon x

I don't think I have. I assumed they were for period pain, rather than head pain. Thanks

I did ask my local chemist, they said there's nothing else like them, but it's definitely worth getting a second opinion. Thank you
Try the dark chocolate system 4 squares 70% cocoa solids chocolate for three days before you are due and then two squares for the first three days... you may find after that normal painkillers will be enough. its something to d with a combination of magnesium and stuff that mimics neurotransmitters. It seems to have helped a lot of my friends over the years
Feminax are for period pain and headaches associated with pmt, they did work for me.
