to allow ringtones for mobile phones when they could've used the silent vibration-only method? Probably the same nursery school reject who allowed solicitors to start advertising. All these no-win-no-fee ads are really getting on my ****.

i dont think LP set out to be obtuse, but is responding to the replies they have received, they have an opinion, no need to be rude to them !
I have my ringtone set to loud, I cannot always carry my mobile in my hand and I dont always have a trouser/skirt pocket to put it in in order to feel the vibration.

I would rather annoy someone with my mobile phone than miss a potentially important call.

At last!!! At least there's two sane people here.
"Sorry, only just seen your reply Boo. What an arrogant git. Who gives you the right to INSIST others hear your choice of rubbish? Just about sums you up. "

LOL!!!

I think I love you LewPaper, I was joking by the way, but to visualise that vein throbbing on your forehead is priceless.

(Incidentally I DO have a cool ringtone though)
Early mobile phones were the size of an overnight bag. You certainly wouldn't keep hold of them. A vibrate function on them would have been dangerous.
"A vibrate function on them would have been dangerous. "

Or very very thrilling....errrr allegedly.
was that the origin of the expression, a dirty phone call, in having a brick phone ringing on its vibrator......

Now the little bunnies have gone out in the playground the tone's suddenly improved greatly resulting in light-hearted banter which, apart from serious discussion, is the way it should've been all along.

Would that be 'ring tone'?
I was joking with you all along Lew.

<sniff...snivel, my humours wasted...wasted I tell ya!>

Yes, Boo, I do now but I'm afraid your comments were mixed with so many flippancies I couldn't tell at the time. Sorry.
