I am looking for a scanner to put old photos onto my laptop....I am unsure of what to look for in a scanner or will any old thing do the job?

Thanks in advance! :)

my sis has a Canon one that can do photos, 35mm slides and documents - think she paid around 120 for it......she swears by it but I don't know the model number....a quick google will find it.

Thanks so much! :)
I have a Canon lide scanner (model 100, I think), which I purchased for about £30. I use it for scanning documents & photos and I am very happy with the results. The unit is USB powered and so does not need a separate power supply.

Unfortunately Canon no longer make the particular model – the lide 110 looks like the nearest thing available (but it is £50 – free postage). The two reviews posted are positive, so I would definitely consider it if I were in the market for a scanner.

I agree with Hymie. I bought a Canon Lide from Amazon and it's great for photos and is just what I need. it cost £48.00.
