My Printer and Scanner WERE connected to my computer via two seperate USB leads (small squareish plug to USB), into two seperate USB sockets on my computer.

My lovely child has yanked on one of the USB leads and broken it.

I am now left with only 1 USB printer/scanner lead (small squareish plug to USB), and one parallel type printer cable.

On my old computer setup, I had it setup so either ( I forget which way round) the scanner was connected to the printer via the /parralel cable and one of the devices had the USB cable going in to the computer.

I need to scan and print loads of documents today, and can't make it to a computer store to buy a new lead.

Can anyone one tell me the correct sequence to daisychain the scanner and printer into the computer using 1 x Parallel type cable and 1x USB cable? I know it can be done....but it's driving me mad!

This is the parallel cable;

And this is the USB lead;

I hope this makes sense.

Many thanks in advance.

I would connect the printer to the PC using the parallel cable and leave the scanner connected using USB. The only thing you need to do it get the PC to detect the printer on the new parallel port. If you plug it all in and power it up then reboot the PC it should detect the printer and you should use the drivers already installed.
