Laser printer for home office - what kind/type/brand ?

I have a HP Photosmart (good but slow) and want to buy a laser printer for my home office. The output will not be very high, but I would like something reasonably speedy and not too expensive.. I also need to take the cost of replacement cartridges into account. Can anyone give me some recommendations, particularly from their own experience?

We have a Lexmark colour printer. The cartridges are pricy but they last for ages.
