remembering commands

IE on my machine doesn't remember things when I ask it to. E.g. when I check the box 'In the future, don't show this warning' it shows me the same warning next time. I find this really irritating. How can I fix this ?

you could try reloading IE onto your PC and then starting again with the commands you do and do not want to be shown at start up.

Thanks Katie P, but unfortunately I already tried that and it didn't work. Any other suggestions?
