Problem With Printer

I have an HP Deskjet 2540. It was printing badly with some lines faded or blank, so I changed the ink cartridge. It is still doing the same thing so I guess there is a problem with the printer. I am not good with technology but wonder if I need to clean something. If so what and how?

You need to clean the print head. There will be a utility program in your printer software to do it - it might take several attempts.
