What is the best way to start a fitness journey?

With a single step

Slow and steady, achievable short term goals that will help reach your target.

Realistic expectations.  Consistency.  If you don't want to work out because you are tired, feel a bit off or just not in the mood, do it any way.  If you are still struggling after 10 minutes, give up until the next day.

Find something you enjoy, you will be more likely to stick at it. 

Regular brisk walks 

 Go walking. Start off at a short distance and then work up to longer distances, twice a week.

Sit in a comfy armchair with a lovely cup of tea, a packet of your favourite biscuits and have a think about what to do next. Seriously, if you are not used to exercise, walking is the best way to get started. Don't go mad, just fast enough to raise your heart rate a little.

Find an efficient fitness advisor. Don't do anything before you get some advice, because, if you start by doing what you think is good for you, you might do yourself an injury.
