Can't believe the act of diving, literally ( 2 that I know of ) over the finishing line to steal a place.

in the old days you had to touch the tape with your chest
Legal, but not really in the "spirit" of the games.
yeah like diveb I thought this said .. 'driving in athletics'.....

and then I thought = but you have to dive to get a medal in athletics you know like Daly but that of course is diving in er em diving....

I've always thought that lunge forward at the end of the race must affect their forward movement, and that they would be better keeping on running flat out till through the tape. Last night one of the commentators (an ex competitor) actually said the same!
footballers could show them a few moves.
