Less than an hour to go. Battle line are drawn in this household. I have had a punt on England 11-15 points and Vunipola, Haskell, or Robshaw first try. Should be a cracking game.

I think that it wouldn't go amiss to mention the Ladies,Gentlemen,Girls and Boys from England and Wales who were fortunate to have tickets to Twickenham today. No ticketless fans crashing the turnstiles, no pitch invasions, no tear gas and baton charges by police horses,no criminal damage in Twickenham High street post match and more alcohol consumed in...

Great. So it wasn't "Nos Da Togo hmphh." Lucky man.
I rarely comment on sport but I think England deserve all the praise they can get. A ruddy marvelous victory !

No ticketless fans crashing the turnstiles, no pitch invasions, no tear gas and baton charges by police horses,no criminal damage in Twickenham High street post match and more alcohol consumed in that stadium than the rest of all the pubs in Middlesex.
Well done the rugby fans who rarely disgrace themselves.

DIVEBUDDY, you wrote, "PP. If you knew the first thing about it, or indeed anything at all, you would know that the Irish national Anthem is not used."

What do they play at the home games in the ROI? Is it the Irish National Anthem perhaps?

From your link, "At matches played in the Republic, both "Amhrán na bhFiann" (as the anthem of the Republic of Ireland) and "Ireland's Call" (as the anthem of the home team) are sung. Elsewhere, "Ireland's Call" is the only anthem used in recognition of the need for a unifying anthem."

When I was a young rookie I used to volunteer to work my weekly leave day at Twickenham with my best mate/mentor who later became my best man.
After doing traffic duty outside Stadium pre match we had to go into the stands to keep an eye on the fans/game.
Always remember removing our helmets so those behind didn't have their view obscured and waiting always for the inevitable bottles of whiskey to be passed back for one swig and passed on again. Reg and I always ducked down in case of TV cameras and passed the bottle back.
I never remembered the coach trip back to the nick for dismissal. Happy days.

Looks like PP was correct after all...
DIVEBUDDY is the Irish National Anthem played at rugby home internationals in the ROI or no?
-- answer removed --
And once again it turns into a football bashing thread!
DIVE BUDDY, you said the Irish National Anthem is not used, NOT that is not used as the anthem of the team. God Save The Queen is played if the Irish team is playing in Ulster which is why I specifically said home games in the ROI.
