The BBC thought it worthwhile to get a quote from someone in America's MLS, about the possibility of him moving there, so perhaps that's an indication of where the rumours suggest he might go?

What really grates is all the syrupy tributes as to how loyal he has been to Liverpool when everyone knows he was about to walk out and join Chelsea about 6 or 7 years ago, until he was threatened by local gangs with family ties, and he was forced to change his mind!

Liverpool have confirmed that Steven Gerrard will move to Major League Soccer at the end of the current season, while manager Brendan Rodgers rejected suggestions the club had not done enough to keep their inspirational captain at the club.

Los Angeles Galaxy head the American clubs who will be interested in signing him, and more details of Gerrard’s plans are likely to be revealed in an interview, released at 5pm GMT on Saturday, via Liverpool’s official website.
