Royal Jelly capsules or if he likes honey, local honey. Since taking these capsules I don't get colds (touch wood).
Avoid people with colds ;)

daffy, great idea , thanks !
Also does he have the ''Flu Jab''.
Question Author
no he does^nt tony. but thats quite interesting, thanks.
I wasn't entirely joking with my last answer :)

I know it is very hard to avoid cold infected people but you can lessen the risks to yourself by using a hand sanitising gel whilst out and about.

When people sneeze or cough they sometimes do so into their hands, they then touch door handles etc. and then anyone touching the handle afterwards will pick up the bugs on their own hands (and possibly infect themselves), this can be partially avoided by using a hand gel before going out into the great wide world :)

actually daffy, he uses hand gel at work. and i appreciate your point about trying to avoid people with colds, but its difficult when he works in a fairly large office, when he visited me yesterday i stayed at least 6 feet from him :(
Could he ask his HR dept at work to print and display lots of posters in the office to remind people to sneeze into tissues and then bin them/use hand sanitiser regularly?
fit does not equal healthy. IIRC Seb Coe used to have terrible trouble with infected boils on his back.
I don't do any keep fit and never have a cold. Funny old world innit.
yup, also toxoplasmisis, a blood infection and recurring chest infections.
some people just catch colds (jno jnr does so all the time), some don't. I've had a lot fewer since I started getting the flu jab, but I've had one for two weeks now.
I have seen a lot of 'fit' people as described by you in my classes over the years. Strangely enough they seem less 'healthy' than others who don't do so much exercise, always off with heavy colds, chest infections. I mean the over enthusiastic types, fitness fanatics, etc.

I have read research that shows that excessive exercise can affect the immune system.
Maybe it's a genetic tendency, some people seem to go from one cold to another. I can't remember having a proper cold for 15 years, just very lucky - but then I can't remember my mother ever having one!!
I have found that, since I started taking a zinc supplement, I have been more healthy.
