I remember your post TWR ... very good! Works then!
I was watching yesterday too .. apparently if you don't tick that little box ( tick here if you don't want us/ third parties or something to contact you .. your number sometimes gets sold on to brokers?

Good Morning Elina, no bother after I bought the phone, xx
Great stuff! So annoying those calls.
Sorry, good morning!
Like you TWR we have a BT???? Phone too ( I can't remember the model number either) and we get next to none of the annoying cold calls we used to get. The odd one if its from a national number with a normal area code gets through but that's maybe once a month. I think it's wrong that these people should be able to make money out of harassing people, you shouldn't have to be buying new phones to stop it.
Just checked it's BT4500
What the program didn't make entirely clear is that there are clever dialling machines that can call literally 10,000's of numbers. Mobile numbers are not listed in the Phone Book, so we are not getting these as well. They don't have to know your name and most of the companies won't check with the TPS to see if you are listed or not. So a telephone number broker isn't needed.

Its happening with mobile numbers as well as landlines.

I cured that but I would like to recommend a "Help Line" on this site for advice, information, a local police number for the Elderly that's intimidated by the likes of those SCUM PEOPLE that ripped of that Watchdog Actress for £2000 for 30mins work for cutting half a hedge down, surely something could be sorted on here?????? AB???????

Hi Mikey, I was having the Lucky Lucky relations from Africa telling me that WE have just found Millions of tonnes of gold in my mine but they need a few ££££££££££££ to start the work, never had any bother after the purchase of this phone, regards my Mobile, if I do not recognise the number I Just block it, it works Mikey.
TWR...well done ! The difficulty with ignoring calls that you don't recognise, it can sometimes backfire. Someone called me this week, quite late and I nearly didn't answer, as I didn't recognise the number on my iphone. It turned out to be the sister of an old friend of mine, that I hadn't seen in a few years, to tell me that he had passed away on Sunday.

She had spent all evening dialing all the numbers in his Mobile, to pass the sad news around.
