From 01287963771 telling me that my internet will be cut off tomorrow due to illegal activity and then asking me to press 1. I did not press 1 but shut the call down. My broadband is with Sky.

I've tried looking the number up but can't find anything.

Has anyone else had anything like this? I don't know how to find out what this number is and if genuine. Can't get through to Sky due to inevitable staff shortages.

Yep. Just this minute had another call from a Bradford area code and no one talking.

The other was was North Yorkshire.

I signed up to TPS but some numbers still get through.
As far as I'm aware every phone call threatening to cut something off ( ooh, matron) is a scam, you did right. I don't understand the one I get quite frequently these days where a man counts down from ten to zero and then rings off.
Had the same call a few weeks back. I did exactly the same as you, promptly hung up. I'm with Vodafone and my internet still works fine and dandy, ta very much. :-)

These calls came through to my landline which I very very rarely give out.
Very old scam, just ignore it
Mrs Allen answers these with "That's odd, we haven't got a computer," which usually shuts them up. Mind you, one guy did call her a liar!

By the way, it was an automated message I received.
