Most non Christians have never even heard of it anyway...
I speak legalese. Keeping the mystery alive and paying the bills.
Not personally!
Someone told me years ago, a friend who went along to this speaking in tongues caper, said somebody near him was actually speaking in Greek, as friend was Greek himself, he said he was coming out with a load a profanity!

At the risk of being called some kind of antagonist, I would love to hear Theland's view. But he just wont identify with any particular 'brand' of Christianity...except his own!
I was and I did. No longer though. I grew out of it.
The idea that "you can be into this" is daft. I am a Christian and I have encountered this only twice over the last 50 years. They were among my formative religious experiences. I found them profoundly moving.

You havnt been around charismatics much then?

//The idea that "you can be into this" is daft.//
I agree. Its bonkers....
I do find it odd that people who evidently have no belief in Christianity keep asking what might be termed religious questions. If you think it's all ridiculous fine. If you are an atheist, fine. So go talk about something else.

well. Samarin has written a book about it

In 1972, William J. Samarin, a linguist from the University of Toronto, published a thorough assessment of Pentecostal glossolalia that became a classic work on its linguistic characteristics [wiki]

deffo not high church or roman

I think some of the churches are snake handlers as well ( ugh)
// I do find it odd that people who have no belief in Christianity ask religious questions.//

mirrored by fundamentalist creationist Christians ask earnest questions about Darwin and his writings altho they have intention of changing their views ....

I would say both behaviours are 'normal' for AB

AB filters just don't understand the language of angels do they??
Interesting that the christian answer has been deleted. I suppose the person changing to the other cheek stopped off at the mouth.
So how did Christianity spread all around the world then ? 2 bn. or so followers...seems the gates of hell have not prevailed against it....
