Are positive vibes a thing?

You might direct those towards him.

I believe they use a laser now not a knife. Done in no time at all.

Good by grief man it's a routine operationnthat many men have experienced with less notable attendees in the theatre. I was 'under the knife' on Wednesday and the only faith I needed was in the surgeon who operated on me. With the best of intentions prayers from friends or family do not pull you through. It's medical skill and ability. A fuss over little.

Sarah Ferguson has much more serious issues to occupy her mind.

I wish you and the king a speedy recovery.

I had my ralls cut 25 years ago with a knife and didn't feel very much at all, I just heard the crunching of the knife cutting into the flesh. A little throbbing the following two days, job done.

Sandy, totally off-topic, but there are those that believe 'vibes' work. On my 3rd tour of Ulster, i was part of the Regimental Int Section, mainly as photographer/collator, but part of my remit was to interview 'informants'. As junior members of the Int Sect, my friend Ginge and i were tasked with meeting up with those we labelled 'Spacemen' - on a different planet from us.

We met up with one such 'Spaceman' in the Bodega Bar, Belfast, where, while sipping the whisky we bought him, he told us he had a brilliant plan to rid the country of the IRA. He said that at a given time and date, all those opposed to the organisation should think negative thoughts about them. He added that, if everyone concentrates really hard, those 'negative' vibes would work and the IRA would just disappear.

Needless to say, he didn't get a second drink.

He might have been a follower of transindential meditation.  They are said to have great faith in the power of positive thought.

Nah, i think he was just after a free drink, Sandy. The problem was, no matter what info was being proferred, a 'meet' was necessary to ascertain it's worth.

If he's having the REZUM procedure no knife is involved. The prostate is ruduced using high pressure water/steam delivered through a tube up the urethra.

If it is REZUM, it's a lot less invasive than other possible treatments:

They won't use a knife they gain entry through the place where the sun don't shine. I wish him luck & add him to my prayers.

The worst bit for me was when I awoke from the anaesthetic I that that sensation you have when you are bursting to pee and think you can't last a second longer - but I wasn't, and the sensation lasted like that for more than an hour. 😰

Good God, a jet up the Japs eye sounds worse than the knife!

Still, I wish him well.  My father died of Prostate Cancer, not a pleasant sight.

I don't pray Sandy  but I'll join you in wishing him well.

I'll bet he's looking forward to a royal wee.

Douglas I so wish there was a 'like' button!

Ken4155,

When the army was looking to recruit me as an informer they were kind enough to come to my flat in Divis.  I didn't need to go into town.

The patrol which made a pretence if searching my home was different.  There was one man had a crown on his shoulder( a major?), and another had two pips.

They asked me would I like to help stop the violence.

I replied with, If your country was occupied by a foreign army would you be a Quisling?

The major seemed genuinely offended by my reply. He said something like, We're here to keep the peace.

I wasn't involved and that's the way I wanted to keep things.

Don't worry, he'll be swell!..

I wish him well.

I wonder why the British army chose to descend on you out of the thousands of young men in the town. Perhaps they thought you knew something of interest. Did you not ask, 'Why me?'

Intriguing
