Happy Easter. You can say many things about Easter, but for me one of the most profound is Jesus's victory over the last enemy eg death. We no longer have to fear death as some fearful end. Jesus provides a path to Life if we are willing to accept it.
It is no longer fashionable to see binary outcomes but either the Ressurrection happened or it didnt and either Jesus is God or He isn't. Our whole destiny hangs on these points. Happy Easter

//and either Jesus is God or He isn't//
And theres a lot of view points on that one as well.
Marcionites etc.
You may be as well exploring early christianity (as oppossed to believing what youve been told by your Vicar, Pastor, Priest etc)
//but either the Ressurrection happened or it didnt//
// Jesus is God or He isn't.//
//Our whole destiny hangs on these points//

Any evidence for one of the three assertions presented above??

Jesus said He would be in the heart of the earth 3 days and 3 night. See Matthew ch 12v40.
There is no verse that says the crucifixion happenned on a Friday. Apart from the occassional mention of Sabbaths, days of the week dont get mentioned in the Bible.
There is no false prophecy what Jesus said came to pass
//There is no false prophecy what Jesus said came to pass//

//Jonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of a big fish. The Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the grave also//
Matthew 12:38

JESUS was NOT in a grave for 3 nights was he?
Therefore he was (according to Judaic Law) a false prophet.
You can't have it always.
How many night did he spend in the grave????
Feel free to use Biblical scripture to prove Biblical Scripture....
//There is no verse that says the crucifixion happenned on a Friday. Apart from the occassional mention of Sabbaths,//

The ''Occasional'' verse??
LOL, Your having a laugh!
The ''Occasional'' verse??
LOL.
As opposed to other verses that are directly oppossed to what you believe?
Question Author
Nailit, Did you read my last post?
I said there is no verse that says the crucifixation happenned on a Friday.
Jesus was in the earth, 3 days and 3 nights as Matthew ch12v38 says
Why do you think that informed, Bible readers are atheists?
Just interested!
// Jesus's victory over the last enemy, death.//

Paul - o death where is thy victory -where is thy sting?

written before the gospels apparently. ( Early Paul predates the earliest gospels)

have a happy easter 5L
Question Author
Nailit, Was your last post directed at me, if so I don't understand it
//I said there is no verse that says the crucifixation happenned on a Friday.//

Couldnt give a crap what day it was suppossed to have happened on,
Neither does the Bible.
John's gospel even has it at a totally different time/day,
(As opposed to the synoptics)

Question Author
Nailit, So trying to argue with me about the 3 days, 3 nights thing is totally pointless then
//Nailit, Was your last post directed at me, if so I don't understand it//

How dense do you have to be???
//Nailit, So trying to argue with me about the 3 days, 3 nights thing is totally pointless then //

Just asking how long was Jesus in a tomb for then?
3 days and 3 nights as predicted (?) allegedly by scripture.

Or different? (As asserted by you)
Question Author
Why do you think that informed, Bible readers are atheists?
Just interested!

I dont think that, although some of them might be. Whatever lead you to think that.
I not replying to you any more as this is just really silly now
//I not replying to you any more//
I will suffer sleepless nights over your decision im sure.

Once heard a story years ago about a minister accompanying a man
to the Gallows with all the usual religious clap-trap.
The man said to the religious minister, that if he REALLY
believed what he was saying that he would walk the length of the country on his knees on broken glass to bring that message to humanity.
The guy was hung.
The minister went home and had dinner.

and you fiveleaves cant even tell me how long Jesus was in a tomb for?
Going solely on Biblical accounts (Synoptic Gospels, Johns Gospel, Book of Acts)
Put me a timeline of the death, ressurection and ascension of Jesus?

without missing anything out....
