naomi- you think are so clever but do you know what Watchtower means is in the Bible.
Call it observant, Goodlife. I doubt you've ever had an original thought in your life.
> Who Should You Believe In ?

I believe in a thing called love.
Goodlife, //Would universal atheism make for a better world?’ looking at the world today.//

That is an excellent idea, couldn't really do worse. Let's give it a go.
APG - what have you found?
Pixie - universal atheism would never work.
Humans need something to fill the inner void.
Having kicked out God, all sorts of beliefs come rushing in to fill the vacuum.
Is that not your experience?
Theland, what beliefs do you imagine come rushing in?
Theland 16:14
"Having kicked out God, all sorts of beliefs come rushing in to fill the vacuum."
My view is that having kicked out reason, all sorts of beliefs come rushing in to fill the vacuum.
I see ideas rushing in to take Gods place, that impart some feeling of righteousness or better still, self righteousness.
There's p!enty of that about.
Matthew 5:43-45

43 “You heard that it was said: ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies+ and to pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may prove yourselves sons of your Father who is in the heavens,
At the end of the day, you will see who are true followers.

Theland, Self righteousness definition.
\\confident of one's own righteousness, especially when smugly moralistic and intolerant of the opinions and behaviour of others.//
I think that applies more to theists than atheists.
APG - I have never supported any violence towards anybody.
Vulcan - do you think I am self rignteous ? I try not to be
Theland maybe not you personally but your religion has been responsible for 100's of 1000's of deaths over the centuries.
"no religious wars have ever been started by Pagans and we just tend to leave people to get on with their beliefs"

Modern/Contemporary pagans ( 20th century ??) may possibly not have started religious wars. Pagan is not defined here and as 'pagan' is such a broad label it is meaningless to claim pagans have never started a religious war.
Theland, //I see ideas rushing in to take Gods place, that impart some feeling of righteousness or better still, self righteousness.

None more self-righteous than those who think
they have an insight into the mind of an almighty, all-powerful creator, and therefore feel qualified to tell everyone else how they should live their lives - and die their deaths. Look in the mirror.
Nobody, as far as Im aware, claims to have an insight into the mind of God.
Goodlife Cleary does.
