Atheists read the Bible and find plenty to criticise it.
However it so cleverly written, that there are levels of understanding at so many levels in even the most simple texts.
Many texts have been misunderstood for years until contemporary events have unlocked them.
This is worth more than instant dismissal by atheists.

Theland, what is your position regarding the Apocrypha? Why is it rejected as inaccurate? I also have an apocryphal new testament.
Question Author
I am not an expert on the Apocrypha, maybe it can shed light, maybe it is deceptive.

I live without it, Imurge you to do the same. With respect.
Amongst other things, the story of Judith & Holofernes is in there - it has inspired some very great works of art.
Question Author
Great works of art - fine.
This is eternal life.
If you want inspiration for great works of art, read the Apocrypha, but to be inspired by God, dismiss it.
Why do Khandro and Theland never answer a question in a straightforward manner. I ask about god with a good heart, hoping to receive some inkling of what it's all about, but all that comes back is cryptic responses. Both of you, please talk straight and help me understand.

Atheist, Ive been on here for years, Ive never recieved a straight forward responspe from religionists (Khandro, Theland or anyone else). Dont hold ur breath from these people when asking a question about their beliefs.
Question Author
Atheist - I answered you.
"What is God like?"

"Fish / ocean? "

Remember?
Question Author
SOME questions asked by atheist only take a minute to ask, but hours to research an answer.

Is that fair?

Can't you do your own research and give your results on here? Use YOUR time not mine.
You don't have to go to the Apocrypha to find examples of women who do your head in.

Long before Judith did for Holofernes there was Jael. Book of Judges? Sisera? Tent peg?

Have you ever considered taking up Holy orders and study Theology in your ifetime?
You have so many querys with regards your following. Would you not be best served for your answers by attending college and taking up the subject?

Or the, "O.K. and Hello," magazines?
Question Author
Retro - I DO study on an almost daily basis.
I'm never quite sure why you start a thread then instead of discussing the topic you started with you turn comedic and ruin your own question - but then I've advised you before with no result.

I know you won't heed me , what with me being a cult member.
I am sure you do but I meant under the tutelage of a Doctor of Theology in an Adult education college who could discuss with you and fellow students the answer to your questions.
Question Author
Mamya - The point I made was how, until contemporary events have occurred, some Bible passages remain shrouded in mystery.
I did not take this off topic.
Whenever Theland doesn't have an answer he says 'Do your own research'. Handy that.

So Naomi - what else can be done to boost your ego further, and put everybody else on a lower I.Q. ratio than you?
Question Author
Smug - With a capital SMUG!

Theland, what does my ego have to do with your consistent failure to answer questions?
Question Author
Lets test this.
Ask me a question, and I will try my best.
