Cuz Im damn sure I cant!

The thought that my mum is going to meet my dad in hell soon (both unbelievers) sure dont inspire me with faith in a God of love!
Justify or accept?
Don't presume to know the mind of God.
(The God you don't believe in, of course.)

//Justify or accept?//
Is that a question or a statement Theland?
Question.

//Question//
And what is the question Theland?

Are you asking me to justify hell, or explain my acceptance of it?
I confess to being a little confused - if you Nailit and your Mum and Dad don't/didn't believe in God, Heaven or Hell , why would you think they'd go there?

Just think of them being together again.

Both please Theland.
When it comes to opinions on Dante’s Inferno I’m firmly in the Jean-Paul Sartre school of thought......
Nailit - You mentioned your Mum who is so ill, and obviously you as a loving son are hurt, distressed and angry at the unfairness of life.

This is so sensitive, and I don't want to say anything to upset you, or make myself a target for your understandable anger at you and your mothers circumstances.

I sympathise with your and your mothers situation.
Chilldoubt - Please explain. Never read JPS.
Sartre’s own clarification of his most mid-quoted writing:

"Hell is other people" has always been misunderstood. It has been thought that what I meant by that was that our relations with other people are always poisoned, that they are invariably hellish relations. But what I really mean is something totally different. I mean that if relations with someone else are twisted, vitiated, then that other person can only be hell. Why? Because … when we think about ourselves, when we try to know ourselves … we use the knowledge of us which other people already have. We judge ourselves with the means other people have and have given us for judging ourselves.
Didn't JPS say - He'll is other people ?
Rosie,
It’s a line from his play ‘No Exit’.
Thanks Chill.
That is partially congruent with my own beliefs.

Why not Theland?
My mums dying, why do you not wish to really say what you believe? You believe that unbelievers in the Christian faith will be tortured forever in some kind of eternal torture chamber. Why dont you just be honest and say so? Maybe you dont believe this after all?
Question Author
Justify your belief in hell Theland...
Nailit - Before we go there, it is not what I believe, it what you and your mother believe.
