Give this lecture by John Lennox a fair hearing and then I would be interested in your comments.
Thank you.

Please, Sir, please, Sir, what about me?
Interesting that the comments are disabled for that vid. Just listen to what I have to say but please don't debate it...?
Don't know Lennox, but do know William Lane Craig (another Theland favourite).

Listen to the first three minutes of this with WLC "explaining" evil in response to a well formulated question: evil isn't a "thing" - God didn't "create" evil - just the absence of the good. Cold isn't a thing - it's just the absence of heat. Like nobody has ever suffered in any "real" way from cold. (Read Jack London?)

Id rather gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon than view any more of the odious WLC.

73+ minutes, you are having a laugh, be serious.
Well, I'm watching it right now. But then again I don't have a TV. Or a missus. Or a life.....

Get a life, :o))

John Lennox Part two.
For those with open minds only.

Why is WLC odious?
Is his scholarship in error?
cold isn't a thing, its a privative, like dry. The fact that they are privatives (states which are defined by an absence of something) doesn't mean that they aren't dangerous or damaging. Evil though well that's not just an absence of good....because in the middle there are things like ignorance and thoughtlessness
Theland, I’m away for a few days now so have no time to watch your video, but why don’t you study for yourself and form your own opinions? Doing it the lazy way is misleading as evidenced by v_e’s post where he quotes William Lane Craig who says, “God didn't "create" evil”. I refer you to Isiah 45.7.

His conclusions are. Ive seen many debates featuring WLC and his evasive, slippery replies to difficult questions are nauseating.

I watched the Lennox vid last night. In a funny way I kind of enjoyed it. He seems like an affable kind of bloke and I liked his presentation style and his willingness to tackle atheist objections. However I could pick holes with nearly all of his conclusions, some of which are addressed here

You're not watching it then? ;-)

A quote from the anti - Lennox paper,
"Obviously we still have much to learn and much remains a mystery."
Yeah, no surprises there then.
You will ALWAYS find an anti - Christian to argue to the contrary.
Whatever floats your boat.
I started to watch Part 1 shortly after the thread was posted. I fell asleep but when I half-wakened through the night and there was no sound, I assumed I had missed most of it.

However, when I looked at my 'phone again this morning, the video had stopped playing about half-way through.

Was that divine intervention?
Theland, have you no comment to make regarding William Lane Craigs statement that God didn't create evil when the bible clearly states he did? I shall direct you to the passage naomi gave you, Isiah 45: 7, how can you support a man who contradicts the bible?

A quote from Christians
''The Bible says it. I believe it. That settles it''
No surprises there either.

Trying to reason with a Bible believer is like a pencil without led. Pointless!
I have to say I do admire everyone's tenacity, that's a sincere comment.
