Not a question, just a link to an article.

You may have heard of this book and this guy - Eben Alexander. Wrote a book called "proof of heaven" which became a bestseller in the US and is apparently being made a film. Caught the public imagination because of the scientific authority imparted to the book by the fact that the author was a "famed neurosurgeon", and, according to him, he was by his own diagnosis "brain dead" through acute bacterial meningitis resulting in a coma.

Some of the details and story sounded odd to me at the time, so I was interested in reading the following article in the Esquire. It was the first paragraph of the story in particular I found particularly stomach -churning, him appearing on Fox News immediately following news of the Newtown Massacre, responding confidently to a tearful question from the interviewer about the experience of the kids killed.

Less a Prophet, more a Profit, I think.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eben_Alexander_(author) Alexander said “Esquire's cynical article distorts the facts of my 25-year career as a neurosurgeon and is a textbook example of how unsupported assertions and cherry-picked information can be assembled at the expense of the truth." Oh, the irony! Interesting to note that as of July 3, 2013,...

Gina, how come airline pilots are more affected than the japanese on the ground(where the leaks were)

Its like responding to a Gish Gallop

"has exposed truth of what is really going on with radiation leaks.
Alaskan Airlines Pilots and Flight-Attendants are now having cancer issues
because of exposure to radiation in the air. Sea-life is dying daily on our Pacific shores. Sea-Lion pups are dying fro radiation and no sardines to feed off of. Sardines are all dead in Pacific ocean. Form of food for sea-life. When they remaining reactors go...globally were ALL DONE"

I ask you again, Gina - what does all this nonsense you are spamming us with have to do with Eben Alexander, or his book Proof of Heaven?

You assert your step-father is a famous scientist? How can we know? And what does that matter anyway? What does your step-father have to do with any of this garbage you are spamming the thread with? Does he agree with/support these contentions? What are his qualifications, and what is his field of expertise?

"Alaskan Airlines Pilots and Flight-Attendants are now having cancer issues
because of exposure to radiation in the air"
- Says who? Where is the evidence to support this contention? None to be found, just one geezer rabbiting on this website you like so much.

"Sea-life is dying daily on our Pacific shores"
- Sea life is dying daily everywhere. So what? Where is your evidence to support the notion that there is excessive deaths due to radiation leaks from fukushima?

"Sea-Lion pups are dying fro radiation and no sardines to feed off of. Sardines are all dead in Pacific ocean." There is a spike in seal pup deaths and malnutrition off the coast of california at the moment, that is true. Sea Lions are a sentinel species, and marine biologists are trying to establish the causes of this specific spike. They have not yet ruled out any theory, even the idea that fukushima radiation might be a cause - but there is no evidence to date that this is the cause or that it is having any effect at all.

There has been a dramatic decline in the sardine population in the pacific of the coast of california - but this has been an ongoing decline, predating fukushima.

Your posts, and those of the website you continually link to, are hyperbolic and irrational, it seems to me.

I am tired of this now.
Gina seems to be using this thread -about Eben Alexander and Proof of Heaven to spam inconsequential rubbish about fukushima radiation, and frankly its getting tiresome.

@Gina

In all seriousness, I am quite concerned over your mental well being. You hijack a thread, accuse me of being a troll or a cyber bully, then go on to spam the thread with unsubstantiated allegations and links to various conspiracy websites.

Your posts are getting more than a little tiresome, I am sorry to say.

Why do believers think quoting from the bible is at all convincing? Sorry, gina, i got the gist of your posts, but didn't trawl through them all. But i think your point is identical to Eben Alexander in that anecdotal evidence from a dying mind is clearly unreliable.
Question Author
@gina I don't think so ,Gina. You are clearly spamming now. Spamming for Jesus! How Christian of you.

I'm going to cook dinner.
I've never witnessed religious meltdown before, fascinating.

@Gina But you cannot offer any proof of heaven either, and that was the point of this topic. We have here a man ,Eben Alexander, who claims to offer proof of heaven - but a closer examination shows no such thing.

You cannot expect to offer anecdote and storytellying as an alternative to facts and truth and expect it to be believed.

You wandered right off the topic with all the nonsense about fukushima and imminent world war without any explication of what all that was supposed to mean and without offering any substantiation for your nonsense. You insult posters here ( well me, anyway), and still think of yourself as some kind of exemplar for your belief.

You are welcome to your belief, but you are not welcome to spam this thread with irrelevant nonsense and theorising.
Just in case anybody is concerned about gina's fears re. Fukushima, the following link may be a little re-assuring and may redress the balance a little.

Re. Eben Alexander, he appears to have been a bit flaky before his near death experience if his several dismissals and incompetence suits are anything to go by and slightly derailed by the damage his brain seems to have sustained. He now appears to have 'messiah syndrome'..
Not to be taken remotely seriously I think, unless you are a publisher:o)
Wow. Just......wow!
