Many people have wondered for centuries as to whether Angels are real or imaginary. To those people who feel they have actually seen an angel, there is no debate.

My Grandmother used to say that she had fairies at the bottom of her garden. Mind you, she lived in Hampstead, and her garden backed onto the Heath, and it was the sixties.
Of course there are Angels - if there weren't, we wouldn't have Angel Islington and there would be a big sinkhole to Hell Street on the Monopoly board.
And I've just watched a film with an angel in it!
you have to put a thick Cornish accent on for this story

A Scillonian came over from the Islands to the Mainland a few decades ago. He catches the train from the Penzance terminus.

The first stop up the line back then was Marazion. The train conductor comes down the platform, shouting "Zion, Zion Zion."

The doors are slammed shut and the train pulls out of the station, the Scillonian noting that there was an "Archangel Street" outside - 'Not bad this, Zion and Angels'

Next stop was St Erth, change for St Ives, (still there). The same process, the conductor coming down the platform shouting 'Urrth, Urrth, Urrth"

Third stop up the line was Hayle, "Hell, Hell, Hell," shouts the conductor.

"Buggerrr this! I be heading back to the Scilly Irrellands."
Ratter, Robinson Crusoe is based on a real person, Alexander Selkirk.
Selkirk was shipwrecked and lived alone for 4 years on an island off the coast of South America.
Khandro, Do you think Christopher Marlowe knew something the rest of us don’t?
DTC...very funny !
Real - for sure.
Mamyalynne, do tell.
Angels do exist. However they are human not divine or metaphysical. I believe we all know one. If not try this,

Hebrews 13: 2 - Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for some have entertained angels unawares.
I unconditionally agree. Happy New Year.
Can one unconditionally agree with a question ?

Happy New Year.
Tonight yes. Tomorrow bring it on!
Khandro - “... birdie; Your belief in the lack of evidence, isn't in itself evidence of absence. How can you say something doesn't exist, simply because you have no personal experience of it? - your long post is just fabrication...”

You accuse my post of being a “fabrication”. Do you even know what that word means? Since the context you have used it in is incorrect then I can only assume that you do not. No matter – the rest of your post shows that your understanding of a logical progression is also deeply faulty.

You seem to be saying that you are of the opinion that it is incorrect of me to state that something does not exist because (a) its existence is unfalsifiable and (b) I have no personal experience of such things. I must assume therefore that as well as angels, you must also believe in the literal existence of Invisible Pink Flying Elephants [IPFE]. The existence of IPFEs are a matter of fact. I know this to be true. Trust me. IPFEs are the major cause of aircraft crashes when pilot error and/or mechanical failure cannot sufficiently explain it.

I strongly suspect that you doubt the existence of IPFEs. Please explain why and what evidence you would require in order for you to accept their existence as fact.
birdie;
Happy New Year!
EDDIE51 , I didn't know that!!

The term “angel,” literally means “messenger,” it can at times have a broad meaning, including various spirit creatures and even human servants of God.

Some people believe that Angels are the souls of those who have died. At least that is what someone once told me. Her priest had told her that when a child had died at an early age.

For a dead person to become an angel might make a good imaginative TV program or movie, but the notion finds no support in the Scriptures.

There are some religions who have given prominence to angels, but when you read the Bible, you see that angel worship is not acceptable.

It is also interesting that many religions, mainly the Catholics, name the angels. But when you read the Bible, there are only two angels named. Michael the archangel and Gabriel.

In Revelation 12 verses 9 - 12 it tells of a war in Heaven when Michael & his angels battled with the dragon (Satan) and his angels. They were thrown down to the earth and are now in the vicinity of the earth unable to return to Heaven. The account goes on to say that it is Woe for the earth as Satan knows he only has a short time left and he is bringing an all out spiritual war on the earths inhabitants.

Goodlife //In times past, they served as executioners, carrying out the judgments of God. the Bible reports that in one night a single angel destroyed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers.—2 Kings 19:35.//
//And Jehovah has millions upon millions of angels. (Daniel 7:9, 10) All faithfully carry out his will. //

Wow ! If a single angel can wipe out 185k just think what millions could do .

And that is a further addition to to the 2+million killed in Genesis. Do you justify these murders as well ?
You don't need to watch Horror Movies just go to bed with the bible.
