I’ve just received a 2013 Memorial Invitation from the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I will have to decline their invitation, but have a look at it here – third item top line – and do check out the reverse side of the leaflet.

Jesus, despite having been born in the Middle East of Jewish parents, appears to have been a very handsome white man - and no stranger to a designer hairstylist - or the gym. What a hunk! How on earth can anyone take this gumpf seriously?

I don't think he would have much appeal for women of the Chinese persuasion, or any heterosexual men, Mary seems to have been a bit of a goer, must appeal to all of those celibate p...pa... pae...paed....priests.
Since jesus is alleged to be the son of god, there can be little doubt that he looks just like his father, why he even has his blue eyes and cheeky smile..oh sorry that was wind.
So what does The Holy Ghost look like?
A kind of ghost with a holier than thou look about him (it)
Wow, Jesus was pretty buff!

Mind you, fair play ...

If my dad was God, so he could "create" me, I hope he would do the decent thing, and make me look like a cross between Elle Macpherson and Heidi Klum, with Jessica Ennis's stomach.
It has been reckoned, by people who like to reckon that kind of thing, that Christ would have resembled a modern-day Yemenite jew, or in other words a well-suntanned gent with very dark hair.
But the whitest representation of Christ I ever saw was a statue in the cathedral of a black country. Skin painted chalk-white . It bothered me no end. Still does.
My wife received the same leaflet last week (Sunday). But the question that what Jesus (pbuh) may or may not look like has always made me laugh too. And that for the same reason that the way he is presented in Western world (mainly) he seems to fit where they want him to fit.
Keyplus, Is that why muslims don't portray mohammed?
At my C of E Primary Jesus was always depicted as a shepherd holding a lamb. As we focussed on the lamb I guess non of us ever remembered what he actually looked like.
Referring to Boo's comment earlier - The History channel have recently launched a new mini-series on the Bible ( like that is what the world is crying out for), which has created something of a minor storm in the media over in the US.

Glenn Beck, a forthright and trenchant exponent of right wing opinion, first drew attention to the similarities in appearance between the actor playing Satan - and Obama!

And yes,you probably guessed it - Jesus is played by a white guy - a kind of Brad Pitt lookey-likey with a beard.

So, a modern day show in which Satan, the font of all evil, is played by a black guy who - coincidentally?- looks like Obama, and Jesus, the symbol of all that is good- played by a white guy ?..... Well, you can see why commentators are asking whether the producers of the show have learnt anything about racial equality over the last few decades, whether they are just lazily conforming to a western-centric stereotype, or whether they have an ulterior motive?

I've always thought he might look a bit like Woody Allen.
@Naomi - Just my opinion - but this answer of Sandys deserves best answer :)

"I've always thought he might look a bit like Woody Allen."
wasn't he a hippy in a kaftan with sandals and white socks? not to mention sun and wind tanned skin and a beard zz top would be proud of. if he looks any different when he finally gets round to visiting me....i'll be disappointed, naomi. very disappointed. x
Ecce Homo . . . what if (and who's to say she didn't) she actually got it right?

How quaint. In the 60s Jesus was always portrayed in WT literature as clean shaven (and of course white), as was the first Adam.
doesn't he look like Noel Edmunds... deal or no deal. x
I once read about evidence being found that described Jesus as being slim, had a slight stoop, and had brown hair. Can't remember the source, alas.
"I've always thought he might look a bit like Woody Allen."
agreed with sandy to start with and then remembered woody's glasses
one would have thought he would have had somewhat darker olive skin with dark hair. Not blond and blue eyes,
When Robert Powell played Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar he wasn't wearing any knickers.
