Such a viewpoint is common in today’s world. Scandals involving lies told by prominent politicians and other world leaders have rocked society. Influenced by this climate, many people have relaxed their commitment to telling the truth. In some domains lying has even become official policy. “I’m paid to lie. This seems to be the core of retail sales training everywhere, Many believe that there is no real harm in so-called little white lies. Is this true?

More gobbledegook! If you have something to say, at least say it in such a way that the reader can understand it.

Yes,many wish to understand God’s Word. They want to know the will of the Creator. Yet, at the same time, they find the Bible difficult to understand. This has distressed many why God’s Word should be a Book so little understood. To understand why the Bible is so little understood is to take a major step toward understanding God’s Word itself.
Elderman..If I'm to understand that you don't understand how people can't understand the bible then I suggest that you try understand that not trying to understand something beyond understanding is something you will never understand. I hope you understand that my lack of understanding of your inability to understand is understandable. If you think you can understand the above then it is understandable that you think that you understand the bible.
^^Mmmm .... If my understanding is correct, I understand - if you understand what I mean. ;o)
Naomi can you clarify that..I didn't quite understand.
Understanding is fundamental to understanding. If you don't understand that my understanding is understandably .... un-understandable. (I made that last word up. You'd never guess, would you. Haaa!). ;o)
Elderman, are you in the States? we don't say Mommy....
Naomi..I understood that, thankyou.
What is a lie but an attempt to rewrite reality as a preferred fiction. This does not alter reality changing it for the better but only obscures ones own (and that of the others one is attempting to deceive) vision of what is possible. Only the thief who hopes to gain from such deception is worthy of being granted their wish which ultimately translates to obliteration of an unwelcome reality . . . their own existence.

Yes,Humility involves having a submissive attitude. Real humility enables us to see ourselves as we really are and others as they are. By not playing down others’
Humility does not involve having a submissive attitude, it involves not believing we are right all the time..try it sometime.

God has created man with a mind to think with. He can use this mind to reason. He can consider opinions of others and can determine for himself what is right and wrong. This means that he can progress by learning, as well as discard old, worn-out conclusions, proved to be erroneous. However, many refuse to utilize their mind and rather permit others to think for them. When new ideas are advanced they are at first, and in many instances always, rejected. Early in the fourteenth century the people lived in great ignorance as compared with our present day. They depended upon their professors and theologians, who in turn relied upon the published discoveries of men who lived prior to their time, many of which discoveries were foundationless. When some new ideas were presented, the theologians of the day rejected them.
That's incredible to the point of being almost unbelievable.Where do you find this stuff?

Where the above departs from truth begins at the beginning with the presumption that - "God has created man with a mind to think with."
We are blessed (or some might say "cursed") with the capacity to reason, an ability we are not born with but must come to understand and learn to use. The capacity to reason is a product of evolution, and trial and error. Should one choose to learn the process, reason is an ability we must each acquire on our own provided with the knowledge gained and methods established by those who went before us. Reason, like consciousness, is an emergent quality but one that is not automatic but requires ones active participation and understanding of the method by which we obtain a certainty proven only by the results.

It is a mistake to presume, like the existence of God, that we are given the ability to think rationally and that our thoughts automatically correspond to the reality we have achieved the ability and curiosity to consider it honestly.
Reason requires a certain understanding, one that can only be achieved by the effort, will and choice to learn what it requires and how to differentiate it, like reality, from what it is not.

Honesty is the correspondence of ones thoughts to a reality which can only be properly ascertained and understood through reason.
The next time you sit down to a meal, stop and think about this: No matter whether you are eating white rice or white potatoes, brown wheat or brown beans, yellow corn or yellow squash, black or red berries, they all come from plants with green leaves. Why? Because of the amazing process called photosynthe Such plants all have a green substance in their leaves called chlorophyll. When the sun’s light hits the leaves the chlorophyll goes to work producing complex chemical changes. In the plant’s cells water and carbon dioxide (which the plant takes from the air) are combined to form a simple sugar, the basis of all food. Using that sugar, green plants also make more complex things like carbohydrates, fats, proteins and vitamins. Speaking of the astounding production that results from photosynthesis, botanist “In terms of tonnage, its production makes man’s industries seem trifling. Every year the world’s steel mills turn out 350 million tons of steel, the world’s cement factories 325 million tons cement. The world’s green plants, however, produce 150 billion tons of sugar every year.

Scientists know what happens, but they still can’t understand just how photosynthesis works. As one science writer says, researchers often refer to the process as “the black box.” Why? Because “they know what goes in and what comes out but are not sure about everything that goes on inside.” With all their chemical laboratories, men can never duplicate this amazing process.Almost as remarkable is the tremendous variety of food the earth produces. Perhaps you especially like some certain food—let’s say strawberries. But what if everything—potatoes, rice, bread, apples, oranges—tasted like strawberries? You would soon get tired of that taste, wouldn’t you? Instead, with the different fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and berries that the earth’s food factory produces, there are thousands of different flavors for your taste buds to enjoy.

Again, what does all of this tell us? Very obviously, the One who originated this amazing food factory wants life on this earth to be very pleasurable. He is concerned about a happy future for us. The same Designer that made planet Earth such an ideal home has also seen to it that this home is stocked with everything needed for a splendid banquet for those living here. Will be available to all who want to share in it. Yes, think a little about yourself. To think, of course, you have to use your brain
yawn zzzzzzzzz
Exactly Elderman, you ...have... to...use....your....Brain. That is a useful first step. When you have mastered that you may find that you can understand what you read. Then you may find out that 'scientists' do actually know how photosynthesis (to give it it's correct name) works, right down to the chemical reactions and the electron transfers that are the nut and bolts of it. Later on you may find that the enormous variety of life on earth was not put on here to titilate our taste buds but is the result of evolution driven by natural selection. All these tasty berries and nutritious nuts are the way they are because they are fighting for survival. You have a lot to look forward to for when/if enlightenment come to you, you will realise that you have been seeing the world with the eyes of a man blinded by ignorance and superstition.
If you found the above slightly insulting, well it was no more insulting than the condescending and smug utterances that you post, so no apologies from me. Have a nice day.
Didn't I read somewhere that everyone tells at least two lies a day. I know I do especially if it is going to hurt someone's feelings to tell the truth.

They are at it again. The merchants are leading the people like chief priests. Santa Claus is the master of ceremonies. Christmas trees serve as the symbol of the celebration. And offerings of Christmas cakes and toys are presented. The merchants are propagating the religion of Christmas. Their mission has been quite successful in the past three or four decades. An enormous number of are converted to this “religion”—at least for a couple of days a year!
Elderman, why do you keep posting in two different names? Who do you think you're fooling?
