I did my carpets with the rug doctor today and it was bloody brilliant! There was one particular patch that was totally gross with stains that I've tried to get out for ages with no success and it's cleaned it up really well. You can still see a few little spots but they are no way near as dark as they were before.

The only thing I would say is that the machine gets through the water and solution quite quickly so I ended up having to pop out to pick up some more solution as I used a lot more than I thought I would.

Would defo reccommend! Might post a pic later if I decide I'm not too embarrassed about how filthy the carpet was before.

Nothing more satisfying than a good job well done :)

I love my stair carpet after it's been hoovered, preferably by someone else.
Brilliant :-)

I take it it's easy to use?

Yeah, post piccies...you can always blame your Dad :-)
Does it work on stair carpets??
Question Author
I didn't try the stairs, to be honest after lugging everything from downstairs to upstairs, doing the carpets and bringing it all back down again I was knackered. It does come with a little hand held attachment so I could probably have done them pretty easily if I needed to.

Oh, and it is my Dads fault. I'll see if I can post a couple of pics and you'll see the mess he creates just from where he sits!

Sorry, forgot to answer your Q. Yeah, it was dead easy to use. It is heavy to lift in and out the car but pulling it along was fine.
may have to hire one we have a cream (well meant to be) carpet in our lounge and its bogging! i spot clean but its now in dire need of a thorough scrub!
I could do with one of them. The cats massacred my carpets with their furball deposits and other little accidents. I've got laminate flooring in my living now but still need the other carpets wet cleaned every now and then.
I'd love to get hold of a Rug Doctor, but I am useless with carpet shampooers, tried Bissell and a Numatic George, the water was filthy but the carpets seems just as bad. There is one lady who cleans over here with one, but as I only want to go round the furniture and not move the big bed etc, I feel to embarrassed to ask!

Right, lets see if this works. The sofa in the pic is where my Dad sits. That was worst part of the entire house! :)

I didn't really take any pics after I done it, just wanted to get all the furniture back so I took one just now (the last one with the dining chairs in it) but it's a bit dark so that's just shadows, not dirt left over.

You should have seen the amount of cat hair it picked up. I wanted to puke! ha ha.

Oh, and I did actually move that sofa after I took the picture to do it properly. :)
wow, defo going to talk my hubby into hiring one!
a light coloured carpet would not last 5 mins in my house :o
Question Author
The second and third pic you can see how well it's worked with the line of filth and clean line. Those other lighter lines are just wheel tracks. They've vanished now.

It looks much better in person too. Was using the camera on my phone so it's a bit shadowy which makes it look dirty still.
Ive got that colour carpet as well. Pretty impresive pics but my carpet goes upstairs as well
It looks really good :-)
What you been doing on that carpet? Stripping engines?
Which is the good side? : )
I need to do my carpets desperately, did it come with an attachment to get right into the edge of the carpet and the wall?
Question Author
Which is the good side?!?!? Cheeky begger.

In fairness to my Dad, he does spend a lot of time on building sites. I just wish he'd take his bloody shoes off when he comes in.

Rocky, yeah it came with a little hand attatchment.
Really interesting. I want to do my carpets and then have everything steam cleaned. I think my recent symptoms and exacerbated asthma can almost certainly be attributed to household dust mite. Apparently there is a sharp increase in the numbers of people reporting "hayfever" since we all started turning our heating on and it's being blamed on dustmite.

I have got some marks to get rid of too so will do the rug doctor first.
EB get this might drop the hint ;) http://www.amazon.co....es-Door/dp/B004P2MHI2
