Just musing you know, but it seems to me that, no matter how wrong people are, or in some cases how rude, apologising is not an option for them. Are you 'man' or 'woman' enough to apologise when you're wrong - and if not, why not?

Doctors never admit they're wrong.....else they get sued.

There have been many times that I should have been sued but wasnt. but the only time that I was sued, I shouldnt have been.

If you think I'm pushing it to extremes Sqad, you're not compelled to have this conversation with me. Duck out.
naomi...LOL...I´m not very good at "ducking out"

Saying sorry and meaning it and saying sorry and not meaning it is a very common situation.

One cannot often tell the difference, so dont do it.

Having said that, Sqad, the truth might be difficult to accept, and it might be ill mannered to tell the truth in certain circumstances, but it isn't an insult. If you said that to someone who was fat and untidy but a genuinely nice person, then the 'bitch' bit would be insulting and you should apologise.
naomi....quite......but the "nice person" might well be the opinion of others...quite valid...but not my opinion and hence would remain a "bitch" and my opinion would stand and so would my.....no apology.
zorry .. and i mean that...Sqad is VERY good at ducking...I mean qauacking...I mean doctoring....
I thought surgeons were infallible, or think they are.

Fine Sqad, but this isn't a 'but' scenario. In your honest opinion this fat, untidy person isn't a bitch - and in a moment of anger perhaps. you've hurt her feelings badly, so now what?
Question Author
Sandy, do you mean inflatable? ;o)
sandy....surgeons ARE infallible.....you have to believe that otherwise you would never "go under the knife"

My boss once said to me and I related it to all my juniors over the many years:

" It is better to be a lucky surgeon than a good one"

Very wise words.
as a general concept, i think men are far more reluctant to say sorry than women. it is a generalisation and i'm sure there are exceptions, but in my experience men are less likely to....even when they are absolutely wrong and know they are.
In that case I would revise my comment and say "you are fat and untidy"
lol sqad, "I must be cruel only to be kind. Thus bad begins and worse remains behind."

not only have you helped this woman tidy herself up, and lose weight but also to become a nice person. you have indeed found your mission in life. or was that just part of your female grooming tactics?!

when asked in hospital sat...i asked for you sqad......where were you as the gunge came out ?
ankou..LOL...LOL....I am a natural born philanthropist.
murray,,;-)

I dont do "gunge" on the NHS and only if the price is right privately.

Far too messy.
any price for your fair hands sqaud....more sighs,,,,
You're telling porkies sqad. You never apologise?

So if you knock an old biddy over in the street because you're not looking where you're going you just say ..
'It was my opinion at the time that you weren't in my path.
As it happens, I was wrong - but there's no need for me to apologise - kindly roll aside and I'll be on my way'.

I'm not having it.
