Just musing you know, but it seems to me that, no matter how wrong people are, or in some cases how rude, apologising is not an option for them. Are you 'man' or 'woman' enough to apologise when you're wrong - and if not, why not?

I would apologise but I am never wrong :o)
I can be mistaken, misled or misinformed, but I'm never wrong.........

Actually, I was wrong once; that was an occasion when I said that I was wrong, but actually, I was right, anyway...............;o)

Sqad, do you think people who give incorrect opinions that cause distress, or are potentially libellous, should apologise?

Absolute bounder!!
Seriously sqad - say you accused your partner of being unfaithful - you had your reasons, there were a few text messages you misunderstood, she was acting out of character etc - but it turns out your suspicions were completely unjustified - you're telling me that out of the following options....

a) I'm sorry dear. I was wrong, Can you forgive me?
b) It was my considered opinion at the time. Turns out it was wrong, but I see no need to apologise.

...you'd go with option b) ?
If proved wrong then I will have no hesitation whatsoever in apologising in even on a live TV where millions might be watching.

Opinion based on the best evidence available at the time and is proved incorrect................ commiserate maybe, but not apologise.........why? What have you done wrong?

Ludwig....LOL...yes ....option b)
Yes, I was taught from an early age it's best to get things out in the open and apologise. Rather that than let a situation get worse.
damn!! photo will not scan !!! toooooo hot sqad !
murray....never mind,I can just close my eyes and fantasise.
Question Author
Sqad, If someone deliberately insults someone, surely it warrants an apology. Or don't you agree?
Wouldn't that depend on why they've insulted them Naomi?
oh ! close your eyes !!!
Murray - with all due respect this isn't CahtterBank..
naomi......you are pushing this to the extreme.

BUT.....if I insulted you, then there would be a good reason for doing so, but it would equally be a very good reason why my insult still didnt hold good.

e,g You are a fat, untidy bitch.........that is the insult.

Now if she lost weight, tidied herself up, that would not invalidate my original insult, as at the time of insult, that is exactly what you were in my opinion.
No apology.
