Is there such a thing? If a relationship starts out on a platonic footing, is it possible for a man and a woman to maintain a friendship indefinitely on that basis, or is it inevitable that after time, the intentions of one or the other, or both, will change?

I'm rather pleased you said that, Lottie, because I think it's possible too. Can't agree with Daniel Craig though, but I'd fight you for George Clooney!
Lofty....what has "shallowness" got to do with it? In the case of a serial killer or rapist, within a week on TV comes a wife or mother who claims that he is a loving son or husband, good with children, loved by all and popular with everyone and six months later, this paragon of virtue starts a life sentence,

The Yorkshire Ripper's wife described him as a perfect husband and father.

Do you really know him?
Oh come on Sqad! You don't know me or Mr LL. I do know him, I know him very, very well, but I like his mysterious ways. I love quiet men who have presence and I like men who don't brag about their conquests too!!
George Clooney is rather nice, Naomi!!
And Sqad. Mr LL is not the perfect husband and father any more than I am the perfect wife and mother. Far from it. But he's my Mr LL and we understand each other.
"humani nihil a me alienum ***"

Motto of the London Hospital Medical College (that is of course if you believe I'm medically qualified ;-)

I am a man therefore nothing HUMAN is alien to me. or nothing HUMAN is outside my experience.
I'm very happy for you Lottie and maybe you do have a totally faithful husband but really you would never know? (mysterious - I wonder?) I mean a person can be really happy in a marriage and have simply strayed once - a bad choice of judgement maybe - would you ever tell your partner and risk everything? My advice is that you would be an idiot to tell anyone. You have to admire Sqad's honesty - a person can have sexual desires for more than one person? Got to have dinner now I'm starving - for food that is.
Squad has sexual desires for anything female imho Seadragon. As for truthful, I think it's more wishful thinking personally!!
Lottie I hope Mr LL receives a really nice gift from you at Christmas and you likwise from him. I'm thinking about a couple I know, been married for 20 odd years, childhood sweethearts, kids etc you know the story but it just always gets me when out of the blue you hear that they have split up!! And then you hear that she was having an affair and left him!! And then you hear that he is not at all upset because he has already got himself someone else so quick!! I mean these people must have been more than platonic in their friendships? Some underlying sexual currents flowing there? And these two were like so in synch, they even danced in synch. I can't use them anymore as an example of an happily married couple. People like you Lottie still give hope to all the Romantics x
You haven't seen us fight seadragon!! ;o) !! We have had our bad times as well as the good, but there is just something there that can't be severed!! It's good to be kept on your toes. Have a nice Christmas x
I ONLY have platonic relationships with my man friends.................:o)

I think it was the effort you put it into answering all my questions on the Religion pages.

It was like sheesh shes such a swot innit... but then I realised you were trying your hardest to impress me!

Like I said i'm flattered but....it wuld just get too complicated! plus there's waldo to consider as well!!!.....
Question Author
Waldo? Boy, are you gonna upset Chakka! It was him you were kissing the last time I caught you cheating on me!!

Alright, I was trying to impress you with my brain - and you have to admit it worked for a while - until HE came along fluttering HIS brain at you. And now you're abandoning him for Waldo?!! Is there no end to your infidelity?!!!! So much for your confessions of undying love - you rat!! Well, all I can say is don't come crying to me when Waldo gives you the boot - and he will because you're just not his type. Ha!
Jealousy was always your uglier side Naomi hahaha seriously i just go with whoever pays me the most attention. you could maybe win me over with flattery..........
Question Author
Ha! And to think I gave George Clooney up for you! At least he was faithful, which is more than can be said for you .... you ..... philanderer!!
i have found out male/female "friendship" can only be termed as "freindship" IF the the guy is obviously gay...... otherwise dont trust him.!!!
