Is there such a thing? If a relationship starts out on a platonic footing, is it possible for a man and a woman to maintain a friendship indefinitely on that basis, or is it inevitable that after time, the intentions of one or the other, or both, will change?

Sure you won't change your mind? I could make it worth your while ..... ;o)
But Seadragon, what 'fit' is to one person might not attract another. Both my good male friends are fine in the looks stake, but I just don't fancy them. And anyway the mysterious aspect comes into it with me. I know far to much about them and them about me. I still find Mr LL mysterious, he always was! We have been married for yonks.

Or are you say that men will take anything if it's given on a plate. I don't think so. ;o)

////////I still find Mr LL mysterious,///////// Bloody hell, you are not married to Christopher Lee are you?

The good lookers go first, then after a few drinks the others are "selected" and if there is only one standing......give her a go.

Haaaaaaaa! Sqad, you are incorrigible!
Oh dear Sqad.

After reading all this I'm really lucky that I have Mr LL! (my mysterious man and quite a looker too) And he's very lucky that he has me. ;o).

Lottie, do you think it's possible for an intelligent woman to overlook what she would see as physical imperfections and be attracted to someone simply for their brain?
lofty...if he is that good, believe me he has had a bit on the side since being married to you.................!!!
Question Author
Sqad, that's not necessarily true. Why have hamburger when he has steak at home?
naomi....... please......do not insult my male superior intelligence with that old and well worn cliche.

One can get sick and tired of steak every night which makes the thought of something quite different, a hamburger quite appealing.

Let me give you an example..........we have been on many cruises over the years, upmarket ones, I needlessly add. with great food and wine.......after every cruise we could wait for beans on toast......get my drift?
come on sqad, dont judge all men as the same as you, maybe mr LL found his miss right, maybe you did not which is why you want to cheat.
cazz....I wondered when you would come along with your standard answer.

Maybe...............but I wonder?
maybe you needed to test more women out before you settled down
Question Author
Mr LL might have found his Miss Right, but Mrs Sqad clearly found her Mistake. Sqad, you do make me laugh. Please tell me you're sitting there laughing your head off (not literally of course).
caz.....maybe! Would have liked to have tested you out....;-)
its more the question who you wouldnt want to try out.. ;)
naomi.....can't answer that, you would have to ask her that question.......35years and still married.

Are you married naomi?
Question Author
Might be. Depends who's asking. ;o)
Squad you are wrong. I have no doubts about him whatsoever. I wouldn't be with him if I did. Not everyone is shallow you know.

Naomi, yes I do. Looks might attract at first but they are soon forgotten. Its sense of humour, intelligence and that 'je ne sais quoi' makes someone attractive. I would rather have Tim Spall than Brad Pitt!! (actually true!) Daniel Craig is the exception he has everything - I might be tempted and I have never been tempted to stray.
As for me and Mr LL - we fight like cat and dog and are both stubborn and opinionated, but underneath it all...........................
cazz....LOL LOL...very true. But, intelligent woman, not unattractive, golfing type which means good food, wine and the good things in life........you would be selected in the first "batch"............without the drinks.
