Hi All,

Do you think there are differences between the North and South then? If you do think there are differences, what do you like about those differences? Does anyone take the stereotypes that we give each other seriously? Do you think it's all just a bit of joke that we poke fun at each other or do you think there's a serious element to it all?

(And if anyone can tell me what a stuttie (sp?!) is I'd really appreciate it!)

Cheers
China

Yup! and they sell it in my local supermarket here in West Sussex, England :o)

In fact I bought some for Mr P's Scottish mate who couldn't find any back home in Lockerbie..lol.

For Gods sake Doc you HAVE to completely ruin a thread and try to bring it down to your level don't you?

We're having a lighthearted laugh and you steam in with your neanderthal views which were neither called for or wanted- bu88er off back to B&S and do us all a favour.
Are all northern men neanderthals, BOO?

I have heard this to be the case..of course I didn't quite believe it until now!

I'm ashamed to call Doc a fellow Northerner Pippa, I really am.

But yeah they are, just most of em are nice ;-)
Maybe those Londoners can tell what a burk you are Doc and behave accordingly.

Whilst I've found Southern humour to be odd at times, and the Cornish humour downright strange, they've been at least pleasant, which is more than we can say for you.

Oh ok Doc. London is the whole of the south...that's a new geography lesson for me :o)
a friend of mine has a chippy that serves

"Pea wet and fish scrappings" its the juice from the peas with bits of batter that has fallen of the fish. Thats Biddulph for you.

Is that an actual fact or just your opinion, Doc?

You haven't answered my question ~ all you talk about are people you have met in London. I don't see how they can 'epitomise the general attitude of southerners'.

Anyone else confused?
Nope Pippa, please do what the majority of folks do (apparently in real life too), just smile vaguely at him and hope that he'll smeg off eventually.
Yeah..I think I get the point now, BOO!
...square sausages under their kilts......... lol i'd rather i didn't know that.........
............you'd think it'll be cold enough anyway
