His children will probably not be damaged by him because he is their dad and they probably will love him whatever. The damage will come from the reactions of other people .
Addictions or obsessions of any kind aren't always easy to explain , his has turned into a coping mechanism.
How damaged will this one's children be or any one elses children come to that.
Appropriately dubbed 'bonehead'

I think any parent regardless of colour creed or social status has the ability to be an embarrassment to their children. He is clearly mentally ill, that is the sad thing, he has not had any psychological help and this his his way of coping. Next question -wait for it...How can he afford these Tats when he is clearly not working?
AuntLydia - // I think any parent regardless of colour creed or social status has the ability to be an embarrassment to their children. //

I can vouch for that!

As a dad whose three daughters have all gone through adolescence, I can confirm that the only circumstances required for me to be a total embarrassment during that time, was to occupy the same hemisphere, and be breathing in and out!!
I really don't think having tattoos means you're mentally ill AL, as to the cost question, no idea and not my business.
^ letting the kids see you dancing doesn't help either ...

kval try reading the article -he says himself his tats are a coping mechanism to deal with his very ill daughter.

All of my kids bar the youngest have Tats -one a full sleeve. Do you really think I think people with Tats are mentally ill.................no I didn't think so.
Andy lol! 2 girls 2 boys and yes, at 10 they love you and kiss you good night, at 16 they roll their eyes and go 'whatever'!
Thankfully as soon as they themselves are parents they revert to being 10 lol!
I am old and really hate tattoos and piercings. I find them ugly. However I appreciate that these days I am in the minority. In this particular case, I don't think they will damage his children, but I think they will be embarrassed when their friends all stare or laugh at their dad with his extreme disfigurement.

I think that the argument being offered is not that people who have tattoos may be suffering from a psychological condition, but that this particular individual may be - given the extreme nature of the tattoos he has had to none-hideable areas of his body.
People have tats so it saves having to tell others they are stupid.
I must admit that whenever I see someone with that sort of facial tattoos, I think of this chap......

Not always - some people just post opinions on here.
AH, they are stupid as well, lol.

Not all of them - but that's a thread-diverting conversation best not pursued right now, I am sure you will agree.
Not agreed at all, AH. Normal here we go round the mulberry bush sunday afternoon.

boo: "I dont see how this would damage his children though? Care to explain that point 3T?" - think it through.

As you wish, but I am out, as they say - I get dragged into enough off-thread spats without intending to, I'm not going to do it on purpose!
"...as to the cost question, no idea and not my business."

Possibly not. It could be that this gentleman has private means or a rich benefactor. But the chances are he has not and that he is probably living on benefits. The question then arises, as it does with many who live on benefits, how do they afford such fripperies when many people who work cannot? Then it really does become the business of all of us because if it is so then benefits are clearly too generous.

As for this man's particular problem, he clearly has some sort of personality defect (in common with people like David Beckham) if he sees the need to cover his body with "art". If it's a way of coping with his daughter's illness he needs to seek help because, apparently, the sight of a square inch of his unadulterated skin makes him go all peculiar.
