Totally disgusted that transgenders can self identify and then walk into a ladies toilet, changing room or other female safe spaces.
What a cheek. What a disgrace. I am disgusted with them.

Yes, exactly spath.
Spath of course people have opinions , the problem I have is backing up those opinions with sentences that give the impression studies have been done and statistics published, when quite obviously they have'nt. An 'I would think' instead of 'They are mostly' would differentiate between opinion and fact!
If it had been my opinion, I would have phrased it like that. I gave the exact phrase of a qualified professional. You can disbelieve it, no problem.

I had an encounter with a lady boy in thailand.. Yes he had a penis but he assured me he felt like a woman.. So he was! Simple...

As my hand drifted i assured him, that he actually felt like a man.

Not sure I would admit to that !
It's OK i'm more than comfortable with who i am
What does 'more than comfortable' mean?
it means i have physical ease and relaxation, but on a grand scale.
and mental tbf
I don't see toilets as much of an issue. A good option would be Male, Female and disabled/trans.

The problem will arise when men start using ladies changing rooms in public baths etc.

Naomi: "Me too – but apparently that doesn’t matter because their discomfort overrides mine – even though I’m in the appropriate toilet and they’re not. "

If you state this as a bald fact then of course everything else you say follows, but since it's the entire definition of what the "appropriate" toilet is that's in dispute, it's rather a bizarre position to start from.

There's a fairly good chance that, once in your life, you've been "duped" into sharing a toilet with a pre-op transwoman, and never known about it. Most of the time, that's the way it will stay. For the sad and horrifying cases like Karen White, it's hard to know quite how to respond, but they should not, and do not, dictate the behaviour of most transpeople.
//it means i have physical ease and relaxation, but on a grand scale.//

Does that mean you have been 'cutting' grass.? :-)
well articulated jim
"Appropriate" is men's and women's. We don't separate them by gender, we separate them by sex.
The architecture of our society is built around the binary male/female paradigm. Toilets, prisons, sports, etc ...

Some people's thinking, possibly society's thinking, has shifted outside of this paradigm but society's architecture has not. That's what's causing the problems.

Solutions are:
1) refuse to accept the change in attitudes
2) unisex facilities usable by all
3) separate facilities for each gender

Different solutions may apply in different contexts. E.g. what works for toilets may not work for the sport of boxing.

The analogies with disabled sport and access are clear. Disabled people get their own toilets, their own Olympics and yet there are still many buildings that they don't have any kind of access to, because the architecture of those buildings pre-dates our modern attitudes to disability. We need to apply the same thinking and flexibility to transgenders.
I totally agree with theland. Strange how only the toilet seems to be an issue. Not many mentions of communal changing rooms.
Jim, //since it's the entire definition of what the "appropriate" toilet is that's in dispute//

No Jim. It's the definition of a woman that is in dispute.
We just need to understand the difference between gender and sex, that's all. We always did until the words started getting swapped around. There is never going to be any need to separate by gender. That would literally be "how feminine are you feeling now?". We differentiate between sexes where it is appropriate and those reasons won't ever change because sex doesn't ever change.
I'm not comfortable in communal changing rooms full stop, to be honest.
Ellipsis that is a home run of an answer
SK, it is toilets, changing rooms, women's groups, girls groups, hospital wards, healthcare, prison wards, hostels, refuges, sports... etc. It is just too long to type them all out every time.
