PP at least it gets it over with....like when the elephant farts

Mamya, milk and one sugar please and have a biscuit? (opens tin)
I can't find a post where ummmm has defended or attacked anyone - are you sure you're on the right thread

oh can I do my trump impression?
" I'll tell you what, Anyone who say Umm is nart on the right thread is one of the democrats - the commie ***. They are really bad bad people. Period. Nart you umm"

yeah I'll have a cup please Mama
milk with a bit of sugar
This nitpicking is a bit tiresome. Andy has made it clear what he meant. If you don't believe him them maybe it's better just to say so and leave it
// PP at least it gets it over with....like when the elephant farts //

yeah I was gonna say I havent heard an elephant farts wossit sound like ?

but I fear the answer will be - " erm re-read your own prose!"
Coming right up Woof - a fig roll for me.
PP I did once in the Elephant House in the zoo many many years ago. Its like rolling thunder and can clear a big room effortlessly.
I often wonder when reading these threads if they are meant to send out a signal saying (for example) " Come over here and stop all your silly nonsense, act like we do , debate nicely and adopt the British way."

If that's the aim - it's a fail beyond compare.
Samjenko - //It's very clear to anyone who understands English, Andy. //

I'm sorry you don't understand English then.

I did explain it to you - the understanding of the explanation is down to you - or not ...
Perhaps we should have a poll. Who supports Islam and who doesn't. That would be interesting.
Suggest it to the Ed then - although he might decide that since the endless attacks on Muslims already poison his site on a daily basis, he doesn't want to fuel such nonsense any further.
It appears that some minds are already made up. ;o)

Actually, I don't think the Editor would go for it either, so I won't bother.
around our way it has become much more influenced
by those of the Islamic faith, with endless Mosques, and men and women wearing Islamic dress, some times i wonder where i am, but i have put that down to older age.
>It appears that some minds are already made up. ;o)

Somehow I doubt any participant in these 'debates' in News has ever changed their mind as a result of what has been posted- in fact the points made, tactics used and personal attacks have probably strengthened most people's personal views/thoughts.

The "do you support Islam" is a poor one anyway unless a clear definition is given of what you mean by 'support', which aspects of Islam, which types of Islam, etc etc. Anyway. Ed must think we have enough discussions all saying the same thing
But endless mosques and islam dress is nothing to do with your age is it em ?
fiction-factory, //The "do you support Islam" is a poor one anyway ...//

Just as well I've abandoned the idea then.

AOG - I haven't even answered on this thread so why you're condemning me I really don't know!

For your information I hate all religion, especially Islam, but I don't hate or fear all Muslims, I don't think they all want to kill us!!
Naomi - //fiction-factory, //The "do you support Islam" is a poor one anyway ...//

No selective editing to bolster your view there then ...
hereiam
no its not. Having said that there were few mosques around when i was growing up, or at least not so visible as they are now. As to women wearing the Hajib, Niqab
Burkha, unheard of.
andy-hughes, I can't see how you think I've bolstered my view. Very strange. But anyway, no 'selective' editing required. I posted the bit I wanted to respond to and I responded.

No, let's be accurate, you took a section of fiction's post out of context and used it to bolster your argument - the remainder of the sentence doesn't support what you said at all, which is why you edited it out.
