There seems to have been an above average number of posts that have been misunderstood this evening.

I am sometimes left wondering if people deliberately go out of their way to be offended and if they are not offended they'll be offended on behalf of Mrs Muggins from down the road.

I'm probably no better than others at sometimes taking some comments to heart but it can be quite tricky to express a view that isn't at all targeted at anyone in particular but for some reason you have managed to drive a knife into someone's heart.

It's a tricky business this Internet forum malarkey.

Sorry, no question just a late night reflection.

I will drink to that ;)

I think they sometimes pretend to be offended.
You can't please everybody all the time;-)
Evening, Eccles....I find so often people can't/won't read between the lines...put themselves in the position of others or even think back and see just why a person may behave or post in a certain way.

Too often it's...this is my opinion and I'm right....as someone said earlier... would do us all good to walk in others shoes for a while before being so judgemental....x
I agree. sometimes I think it depends in what mood we are in. or indeed the mood of the one feeling offended. I find myself wishing to say something different to what the majority are saying, but, don't because replies can be quite caustic, then I just remember..............tis only the tinternet :)
I expect I am guilty if that at times. Bit in my defensive (for tonight only) I have stuff on mind - nothing as taxing as canapés though), x
I'm grossly offended by everything on this thread. I've not actually read any of it yet. I just think that it's my turn to be grossly offended ;-)
And therein, cupid04, lurks the reason for the continuing existence of "Chatterbank".
Buzz off, Chris....it's my turn!

Now is not the time to air your dirty laundry and odd sock quandary Sherrard. With all those feet in your house how do you manage the odd sock challenge?
There is a widespread inability to just 'tut' and move on.
Oars have to be stuck in.
I blame the culture of self-aggrandisement prevalent on all (?) internet forums.

Hey, look at me.....
It's easy, EC. Sherr simply sends Mr S to work wearing one sock in secondary school colours and one sock in primary school colours ;-)
cupid04 /// You can't please everybody all the time;-)///

you can.

Shoota I look at your avatar and can only think 'don't mind the quality, feel the width'.....
How dare you call us 'oars - we are just ships that pass in the night ...
Shoota, some people might be diametrically opposed to your opinion:)
I agree Eccles, I had two very unpleasant incidents with people either over reacting or being downright judgemental and nasty on here yesterday. I used to put up with things like that a whole lot more than I can be bothered to this time around, as I've found some people just like to be offended and patronising or to sling their weight around. Well stuff em, it says more about them than it does about me.
I think I know however to what you are referring tonight Eccles, and that's delicate, but in my eyes you did absolutely nothing that could have possibly offended anyone. You gave good sound advice. As long as you act and post with integrity then you can do no more. :) xxx

Talking of misunderstandings........my response to Sherrard made sense in my head......I think someone may have stolen half the exchange before it reached the screen though :-(

I'm really not having the best of days :-( and it is only 35 mins into Wednesday!
Sigh....
There is no width - it's zero.

But high quality zero.
