How much do you pamper your pets?Ive just heard on the radio a man who carpeted a window sill so his dog wouldnt slip when he climbed up and barked at people walking by, also a lady who always cooks a proper meal each night for her two dogs, while she settles for egg on toast for herself!
Do you know any really pampered pets?
our little hamster snowy died last week he was the good old age of 3 and a half my wife (who works in a pet supplies warehouse) treated him like a king he had every thing you could imagine bless him miss seeing him in the mornings xx
I had to lift him off the top of the bookshelf the other day as the pile of CDs he usually uses to as a platform had become unstable and he was being a bit of a wuss.
I imagine my dog considers living in the house, a warm bed (her own, not mine!) and frequent cuddles pampering after four years of kennel life and I'm equally sure the dogs Frank97 has pointed out with their eye-wateringly expensive kennel would be happier with more contact with their owner than any amount of so-called 'luxury'. It's only a kennel, after all, no matter how much it costs.
I let mine in the bedroom even though every night she sleeps on my head and claws into my scrunchied hair, regularly missing and spearing my scalp, neck and ear. Then wakes me up full blast at 5 am. i just can't bear to shut her out.
I have a very old cat that sleeps in my arms like a baby in bed every night all swaddled up in a little fleece purring his face off. Other than that no, I hate overindulged animals or children.
Funnily enough I am just taking a break from sewing new fleece lined hammocks for my rats. I know they will pee in them and chew holes but they love nothing more than to snuggle up in a cosy hammock so every now and then I spend an afternoon stitching more hammocks. They also get supper every night of either scrambled/boiled egg, cat food, baby porridge or fromage frais plus fruit and veg on top of their specially blended dry mix rat food. They have very short lives so I think they deserve to spend them being spoilt.
I would treat my pet like I'd treat another family member - do anything within reason to make it happy and comfortable. Putting carpeting on the window sill to make pet safe and happy, why not. As long as I could afford it I'd do it.
