Honestly, you couldn't have made it up...
A tv ad featuring a (real-life) blind football team, whereby they mistake the ball for a cat (both have bells) and they kick it up into a tree.

1200 people complained of cruelty. Oh perleeeease, do they think it was a real cat?
Hee Hee, I haven't seen it myself, but will look out for it.

The standards authority have deemed that the advert can stand, and will not be banned. I should think not.
Ain't that the truth.
i actually got upset by that ad :-) not enough to complain i'm not that daft
It's a great ad. You don't actually see the moggie being kicked but you hear a thud and then hear a meow.
I haven't seen it. I am a cat lover but I would not complain, I would say it is pretty obvious they would not use a real kitty for such things on tv.
I'm surprised it wasn't banned

This one was

Awww that's mean

It didn't even show a (fake) cat being kicked into the air - it was all the power of suggestion and sound effects.
Anyone who complained about that ad is a bit sad - I've just watched it on you-tube, the fuss made is ridiculous.

And, the cat was okay at the end anyway. If it showed a dead cat splattered on the road, or if it were a real cat that was used and was literally kicked, then they might have had cause for complaint. Might have ;-)
Same as McCluff. I find any suggestion of people or animals being hurt or killed upsetting even if they are not real. Find it unnecessary and not at all funny. I wouldn't complain though.

I accept Lottie, that cat lovers or any animal lovers may be a tad upset at even the suggestion, but to complain is unnecessary I thought?
