Not altogether sure what I'm doing yet as have the cat to think about now.
If I end up at my parents then will be a noggin of sherry in the morning while listening to Carols from Kings then turkey, roast potatoes, carrots, white cabbage, sprouts and parsnips with gravy.
Then Christmas pudding for dessert with brandy butter.
Mum usually cooks a nice gammon joint so some of that for tea with salad.
We like all the little extras better than the meal really. I always have to do loads of pigs in blankets and bacon with the turkey.
We will have turkey & pork and I cook lots of extra veg ready for bubble & squeak on Boxing day
We're going to a restaurant on Xmas day and will be having
Oak smoked Scottish Salmon , with crab mayonnaise and quails eggs. Followed by traditional roast turkey with usual trimmings. Followed by Christmas pudding with Brandy sauce.
Homemade soup for starters with home made crusty bread.
Duck with dauphinoise potatoes, carrots, mange toute and brocolli.
Pud - not sure yet, maybe trifle.
No 1 son will be having macaroni cheese, No 2 son will be having chicken pie and instant mash - they say they should have their favourite thing on christmas day, and i can't fault their logic!
im not a lover of turkey but having chicken seems boring, im the only one that likes duck and i wouldnt know where to get a goose or what to do with it, the cheese sauce sounds good. You have all got me thinking now and hungary
hi all merry christmas. why go with the traditional much easier to get what everyone will eat so we have a duck this year and a leg of lamb. having 2 kids of my own and 3 step kids im lucky 2 get away with that lol x
What about steaks, roast beef, gammon etc. When I was in sainsburys, they had some very large free range chickens - I think they were about 10 - that done with all the trimmings would probably be just the thing.
