I'd like some recommendations for Christmas Dinner, please.

So far, for the 'mains', I'm thinking the following:

Turkey Breast Joint
Pigs In Blankets
Roast Potatoes (boiled and then deep-fried OR oven roasted)
Mashed Potato
Pork, Sage & Onion Stuffing Balls
Stuffing
Dumplings
Carrots, Broccoli & Cauliflower & Processed Peas (or Marrowfat Peas)
Apple Sauce
Cranberry Sauce
Gravy

For pudding/desert (possibilities):

Christmas Cake (fruitcake with marzipan icing)
Jam Roly-Poly (with custard)
Sticky Toffee Pudding (with custard)
Apple Strudel
New York Cheesecake
Battenberg Cake
Yogurt
Fruit

I don't think the pudding/desert is as important, given that I'll probably not be able to move after eating the Christmas Dinner. The meal is just for myself and my better half.

Any ideas will be very much appreciated from all you lovely people :)

I think we should all go to Johnny's.!

Am I right?
Miss. I can't eat a huge plate any more. I've changed over the years. Best wishes.
Miss; you didn't mean Johnny's in Fulham Road, did you?
He likes doing them Atheist and it's only carrots, broccoli and frozen peas. He says finds doing veg relaxing!! Don't forget the roasties are coming out of the freezer with the Yorkshire puds!! ;0))
No Johnny who's always right from AB. Haven't been to Fulham since I was a kid. Dad used to take me. He supported Fulham and wimbledon!
MissT, I agree. We used to have a massive Christmas lunch and pud and cheese and then 3 hours later, a full tea! That is just too much food.

We have stopped that now. We shall have a roast dinner on CD at my brother's with pud - but that will be it. NO MORE FOOD.

On Boxing Day, I am hosting and I am doing a "pick what you want when you want, eat at the table or eat at the sofa or eat standing up, eat with your fingers or eat with a fork" buffet so people can graze as much or as little as they want. Very informal and caters for the older people who would like to eat at the table and the younger ones who like to pick and curl up on one of the sofas.
Miss; it's good if you both have stuff you like doing. You can work as a team and he can make you feel useful. (I offer my cheek for a good slap for my impudence.) Have a happy xmas. :-)
Atheist, Not a slap, just a little kiss on the cheek from an old girl x
I'm going to my parents on Xmas Eve and I'll be cooking with my mum. I'm just having roast spuds and veggie stuff with veg gravy.

I'm making apple crumble for dessert and there will be other puds too.
I don't 'do' Christmas but I do have the food! Sainsburys basted turkey joint, Aunt Bessies roasties, microwave veggies, Aunt Bessies yorkshires, pigs in blankets and stuffing balls (both new this year for me) and Sainsburys chicken gravy. Raspberry pavlova with cream for pud just because I saw it and fancied it. Any leftovers will be shared between the dogs although it will be cold meat and chips watching the racing on Boxing Day.
It's easy, peasy for me - traybake which includes chicken drumsticks,
red onions, peppers, small baby potatoes, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, mixed herbs - 45 mins in oven et voila! Raspberry Trifle or Xmas Pud to follow.
We don't do Christmas either Lankeela, but like to have a nice dinner.

Our son and wife don't do Christmas either --but we do have a get together and buffet usually a few days after, not this though. Not until ì am on the mend.

No Christmas decorations whatsoever. We obviously did Christmas when son was little.

It doesn't matter whether you hate sprouts or not. You've got to have them.

It's the law.

...looks like I'm breaking the law then!
You've gotta have Yorkshire puds or I shan't come;-)

Funny you should say that, I nearly forgot to buy them and I don't have the ingredients in to make my own. That would have been diz-astrous.
I love sprouts. The don't like me !!!
