Why is it on an aeroplane almost as soon as the plane touches down do people jump up and start getting the bags and coat and stuff, then stand in the isle muttering about the doors not opening?

I sit and read my book for another 5 - 10 mins, the isle clears, I get up get my bag and walk off.

I once did this and as I walked to the bagage belt, my bag followed me round, I grabbed it as I left, and never missed a step to the exit.

Cos people are like sheep.
Try this next time you are on a plane. Have a little mess about with that air con nozzle above your head, then look behind you.
Within seconds you'll see a load of hands going up as people follow your actions.

Sheep....
Because if everyone stands up and starts huffing and puffing the cabin crew will over ride all the safety procedures and open the doors quicker, the baggage handlers will unload the luggage quicker, the customs official will not bother to check passports and wave everyone through and all the taxis drivers for 200 square miles will drop everything and appear at the front door of the airport to whisk everyone away.
Thats why!
Also if you press the button in a lift loads of times really quickly it will come faster.
Same with pelican crossings......!

Why, when waiting for a lift, youve press the buttons, both of cause and theyve lit up, do people joining you for the lift also need to push the buton?

Do they think the lift needs to know how many people are waiting?
lol that drives me berserk the lift thing
or the man or woman at pelican crossing who asks if you've pressed the button

doh!!
Everyone on the bus is stone deaf !!

Somebody presses the bell, somebody else presses the bell, the somebody else presses the bell !!

If I was the driver, I would just carry on and not stop at all !!
My boyfriend once caused a pile-up because he found 50p on the floor and reached to get it. mmmmmm how embarassing.
We do the same.

The reason why everyone else rushes to get off is because they've been sitting still for a long time in the same environment, and human nature likes a change of scene, and the body likes a stretch and a move about. Combine those two - and that's the result.
they are the same lot who jump up and leave the cinema before the lead actors name has even reached the top of the screen

i always wait and have a few time been one of the lucky few to catch the little extra bit of film some movies makers put on after the credits.

i can't understand people who stand at a pelican crossing and when i get there i realise they haven't even bothered to press the button at all!!

it is often young men who think they are too hard to need help to get across the road...
like andy-hughes says: stiff and sore after a long flight, need to get up and stretch. In my case, I don't check luggage in so as soon as I am off the plane I am off. If I let everyone else go first, chances are I miss the train and have to wait ages for the next one.
I once heard the cabin crew say as we landed If anyone would like to help with the washing up and to clean the aircrsft, please stand up as soon as we land. Nobody moved that day
Weeelll - it might just catch on fire!!!!!!!!!!!
