Beards

Why is it that most Labour councillor's have beards, do they join some sort of sect or is it an identity thing ?

How do you know they do? Perhaps you should be asking "Why do people stereotype Labour councillors as having beards?"

it's a legal requirement in the Labour party, particularly tough on women councillors.

In Croydon only 4 out of 37 Labour councillors have got beards. The other 33 (including 13 women) have (as a result of the compulsory beards policy) been denounced as thought-criminals and are in the process of being deselected as Labour candidates for the May elections.

rojash, there are 38 labour councillor's in our ward and 23 have beards so my question stands.

rayspark, Charles Clark use to have a full beard in his Commie days, got rid when he thought he might be given a real job.

They've probably all got jobs with the OU or are Muslims. Or maybe it's to do with hiding behind something so that you can't tell when they are lying. My wife has a long beard and moustache, could she join the Labour Party?
