Good evening, yet again!

I could only manage a somewhat-less-than-magnificent score of ONE out of seven this week - and that was a guess!
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-66115560

I did no better in the kids' quiz either, with just ONE out of five:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51318780

I achieved partial redemption in the Timed Teaser though, with SIX out of ten this week:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-66081263

With my lousy aggregate of just 8 points, I can't see anyone at all doing worse than me this week! Your turn, anyway!

Good Evening, Chris!
My scores are
3/7, 3/5, 7/10
This warm weather is too much for me, so not getting many jobs done, but did manage a coffee morning with friends at a new cafe in the park, which was lovely.
I wish you and kitties a wonderful week ahead :-)

Hi, Karamia!

It's always lovely to read your posts.

Well done on beating me easily (although that's not really going to be difficult for anyone this week, I feel) and particularly on that fine 7/10 in the ever-tricky Timed Teaser!

I should have ben out enjoying the sunshine today but I've actually slept through most of it (which is why I ended up posting the quiz thread a bit later than usual this evening). With rain forecast for 10 out the next 11 days here, I think I'm going to get rather wet whenever I venture out of the house!

We've got a new(-ish) café in the park (or, more accurately, 'by the lake') here too.

It opened a year ago and I occasionally treat myself to something there. However, at £3.25 for a coffee (and with other prices to match too), it's not cheap and I don't want to get into the habit of going there too often!

The feline threesome and I wish you a very pleasant week ahead.
Evening Chris.

Hope this finds you well ; ))

Good evening, Sam!

I'm as well as can be expected for an old 'un, I reckon, thank you. I hope that you're winning life's little battles too!

Thank you so much for keeping me company on my lowly aggregate of just 8 points. I feel much better now ;-)
4/7
3/5
6/10
I think I've been lucky, Chris, although I did get a couple more than you that I actually knew.
4/7 2/5 5/10 = 11 aggregate.

Been a difficult week - looking forwards to buying wedding shoes tomorrow. Not me - MrJ2's Grandson - 22nd in Devon.... preparations gathering speed! Not looking forward to driving all that way.
Question Author
'Middling' scores throughout from you this week, I see, Lie-in King - but still a damned sight better than I could manage anyway!

Well done!
Question Author
Well done on beating me, Jourdain2 - not that it was ever going to be particularly difficult this week ;-)

I hope that you find some shoes that you really like but which you don't need to take out a mortgage for in order to pay for them! I'm glad that you've got a happy event to look forward to although the idea of driving down to Devon right at the start of the school holiday period wouldn't be something that I could ever look forward to!
4/7
4/5
6/10
Multitude of lucky guesses there.
Hope you're wrong with your weather forecast - my chart promised
7 degrees a few days ago when it was really warm...
Hope you are well and Chequers, Moonbeam and Tablo are keeping you amused and out of pocket :-)
Question Author
Good evening, Haras2.

Well done with those fine scores this week - you're in the lead!
(Guesses all count!)

>>> "my chart promised 7 degrees a few days ago when it was really warm"

My guess is that you were getting your forecast via the BBC Weather app (or from the BBC website). It threw a wobbly recently, meaning that cold weather was forecast just about everywhere. (Even the forecast for my friends' location in Trieste was showing very low temperatures!):
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66061488

(It looks as if your part of the UK will have a decent enough day tomorrow but then there will be plenty of rain to come after that. Sorry!)

The Troublesome Trio are, indeed, keeping me happy (and costing me a fortune in Dreamies, of course). I hope that you and the darling Shady are both well and that you'll have a good (if somewhat wet) week ahead of you.

You still beat me!
3/7. 2/5. 2/10.
So so!

5/7, 4/5 and 6/10 - not bad considering i've hardly watched any news this week.
Question Author
Not brilliant, maybe, Elliemay1 but still better than me!

We'll call the difference in our aggregate scores 'a minor statistical anomaly', shall we, Caran?
;-)

Well that's one score that's double mine and one score that's four times min, JJ109. Looking at it that way, you seem to have done quite well really ;-)

Hiya, Jo! It's nice to see you posting here! Well done on some decent scores!

Well done, indeed, on some very impressive scores, Ken, which take you into the lead! I never 'watch' any news, as I hardly ever watch telly at all these days. I get most of my news from the BBC website which, because that's where the quiz questions are all sourced from, really ought to give me an advantage. However it clearly doesn't!
Thanks Chris. I've been consistent this week:

4/7
4/5
4/10
Question Author
Consistent, indeed, Twix - and 50% better than me too!

Well done!
4/7,4/5,6/10. Puss Puss happily curled up with me on the sofa, Bailey is as normal waiting for the highlight of his day …food! Off to Manchester to watch athletics today, already have some nice rumbles of thunder outside. Hope all is good with you and yours
Question Author
Well done with those impressive scores, Campbellking.

Just in case you've not got the schedule for the athletics, here's the link:
https://www.britishathletics.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/UKACM-2023-Timetable-v3-290623.pdf

I'm sure that the highlight of any self-respecting cat's day is food, although as my lot get fed on a 'running buffet' basis anyway, it's actually their daily ration of Dreamies that they look forward to most.

I'm glad that Puss Puss and Bailey are well, as I hope that you are too. The Bonkers Bunch and I are all doing "as well as can be expected for old 'uns". (I can hardly believe that they'll reach double figures next year. It doesn't seem that long since they were tiny kittens!). I seem to be becoming nocturnal though - I really must go to bed soon!
